Neither Turner or Sengun are good defensive PF's. It would work ok on offense if Amen found his shot. Otherwise you're just substituting Turner for Jabari which is a downgrade.

Turner is a very effective shot blocker. He is below average defense rebounder, but he is a deterrent. his impact defensively is probably about Sengun except Sengun rebounds, better, defensively, and Turner blocks shots..

Was literally coming to post him, would be nice off the bench and if he lights it up, he's selling out the team shop

I hope they sign Gary Trent Jr. I think he's my top choice out of the available guys. (who might reasonably be available for the BAE. Obviously I'd rather have Lebron, Harden, Rui etc but they won't be available at our price point).

Stone didn’t go after him at the beginning of the outing season, when he was a free agent. I doubt if he will do anything differently now.

    • Nick Richards could give us a different kind of center.
    • Javonte Green has size, some interesting athleticism and an emerging outside shot at the 2 guard postion.
    • Upside small forward- Ziaire Williams.

Could we not S&T Harden for like 38mil with Fred & DFSs TPE?

Not sure if Harden & Lebron planning on linking up in the land but I’d sign Harden for 2 years to line up with KD. Would do about anything for a competent point guard not named Fred

Bring in Harden and hopefully Lebron & Demar follow. Would make next season watchable. Hate on Harden but picking Fred over him is crazy talk

Letting the Nets get Keon Ellis for 9M/yr while we get Marcus for 6.5/yr shows the mindset of this brain dead organization. Could have had Ayo’s bird rights at the deadline last year for next to nothing, NAW the year before. It’s not like our b****ing is hindsight. We were screaming for all 3 of these players long before they got away. Now Rui Hachamura is out there waiting for a contract and we don’t have the ammunition to even make an attempt for him, not that a 43% 3 pt shooter would be of interest to Stone and Ime.

Watch the Spurs get Rui. Rui does everything Brooks did defensively without the tomfoolery, like picking up Centers and Forwards that like to operate from the 3pt line. It's what's missing and DFS was supposed to be that guy. :( Factory of madness

Or OKC. Picking up Rui is the kind of move winning organizations make. Picking up DFS to pay to get rid of and Marcus Smart are moves losing mediocre organizations make. He’d be a good signing for Orlando, Cleveland and many other teams that are lacking outside shooting. He won’t last much longer.

Did he get signed and I missed it? I thought he was still a free agent.

We didn't have 9M a year though. I'd also argue that Marcus Smart is a much more accomplished player. Keon Ellis has never even been a starter for any reason other than somebody being injured. And I love Keon Ellis.

I agree that not going after NAW last season instead of Dorian Finna-Miss was a huge mistake, and I'd have loved Ayo too, though I'm not sure what we had to give up for him. They got two young guys (even if they look like busts) and four second rounders for him. I suppose we had four second rounders at the time, but we didn't have any young guys for them to take a flier on unless we were including Reed.

Rui would be great - but we don't have the money for him. I think all we have left is the bi-annual exception of around 5.5 million left. I doubt you can get a guy like Rui for that. It's wild to me that the Lakers aren't bringing him back with his bird rights.

We don't have the full MLE. We had the tax payer MLE, which is what we used to sign Marcus Smart. All we have left is the bi-annual exception, which is just a hair under 5.5 million. Beyond that it's just the vet minimum.

Rui has the opposite situation of Duren. Rui’s hot streak in the playoffs has priced him out of our reach, and apparently the Lakers don’t want to pay that much to keep him. Duren sucked so hard in the playoffs that the Pistons are willing to let him walk.

My point is that we could’ve signed Ellis by making cap room, just like we did with the DFS trade exception trade. We should be looking under every rock we can find to get Rui. Sending FVV for a trade exception, same with Kd. Since there aren’t any teams left with the 20-25m in cap space some team is going to figure out a way to clear the space for Rui. I’m pretty sure we could engineer an FVV trade with a frp attached to Charlotte to clear cap space. Orlando might be eyeing something similar. Of course, Charlotte ought to be offering their TE and a pick or two in a sign n trade for Duren, who would be a perfect match for them.
