That’s what you got out of the playoffs. I swear he must have slept with your sister or something.

With Ime here Smart will also end up averaging close to 40 minutes a night. But don't worry because he plays hard *clap clap*. Bonus is Reed won't have any opportunity to make mistakes because he won't be seeing the floor.

I just knew he was a commitment to a style of play that isn’t fast, athletic, and dynamic enough to compete at a finals level before you.

I choose to talk about the most damaging idea that everyone else is wrong about on a basketball forum. It makes sense to talk about that.

If we are healthy. I think we are going to have a chance at a very decent year. I’m gonna predict 55 and 27.

I look at smart as a Dillon Brooks replacement. Same demeanor does stupid things at times, but will be the first to get in someone's face at the drop of a dime, in any tension. We just didnt find that guy that could drive in the lane with some consistency to break down the defense. 3 point shooting and what i just mentioned. So yeah it was a failure.

Seriously, what the hell is this team doing. Resign Tari, missed out on the J Brown, signing Smart?

Stone making Morey look like a genius. Franchise is so stupid.

I’m not opposed to ducking the tax but I don’t understand why KD is still on this team given that we are obviously not trying to contend. That makes no sense to me when there are teams that would give us valuable assets for him. I’m also disappointed that we have not fundamentally addressed any of the weaknesses that make this roster ill-suited to contend: ball-handling, shooting, rim protection. The roster construction has been poor for many years now. The weaknesses are glaring. Smart and Bogdon don’t move the needle. Again, pick a direction. Either push some chips in for contention or do a soft reset. Don’t just waste KD. Don’t just live with the current roster construction. Don’t just trade a bunch of 2nd rounders to get under the tax without replenishing those draft pick coffers.

Next season is gonna be ugly basketball without much to be excited about for the future. I don’t understand folks who defend it. I don’t understand folks who call other fans “doomers”. When will the accountability happen? When will the excuses end? The biggest indictment on this organization is that we are going into yr 7 of the rebuild and we have no direction, no vision. Really really disappointing.

I am not sure why KD hasn’t forced his way out. I’m genuinely surprised.

I have a lot of issues with offseason decisions over the past couples years but if healthy I think the team is objectively strong as constructed.

How many former head coaches are on the Rockets staff?

This is not a serious organization

You are assuming Durant even wants to be here which he doesnt.

Apparently he doesn’t if it’s true he wasn’t opposed to the 3 team trade that would send him to Detroit to play with Cade Cunningham, but can you blame him?

He probably has 2 or 3 years left in the league and instead of trying to compete the Rockets punted last season and now they are ducking the luxury tax for this coming season. They need to pick a direction and let KD go. Just trade him to somewhere like Washington for Anthony Davis and some picks so he can play with his good friend Trae Young, and we can do a soft reset getting some picks back.

Youre going in with a knee exploded Fred, a snake in Dickerson and a petulant Tari Eason.

at the end of the day, we heard zero about Durant wanting out before the draft.

think about the player we are discussing, if he wanted out, he would’ve made it known.

His main goal here has been moving up the scoring ladder and personal accolades

They were cooked when they tanked & lost out in lottery for Cade, Paola, Wemby…

Green (now gone), Jabari, Reed ain’t it!

I honestly feel like we are resetting the timeline. All these moves feel like we will give it a try until the trade deadline and finally go in a direction afterwards... But ultimately we are leaving the KD window and possibly trading him at some point.

Why wait for the deadline? All that does is risk a KD injury that will kill his trade value. Depending on the team, I think he could bring back up to 2 frp picks, but most likely just 1. That’s good enough. It will give the kids room to grow and add to our flexibility going forward. It looks to me that Detroit has moved on with their recent transactions bringing in 3 shooters in Joe, Huerta, and Green. If there are still suitors we should pull the trigger now.
