    Probably cost-cutting.

He should've said his ankle exploded.

It’s a mystery Stone has not been fired. Between this deal and the lack of insight into the seriousness of FVV’s injury, this not trading for a pg last year thinking he would actually be back before the playoffs, is ineptitude at the highest level

The deadline for luxury tax calculations was June 30th. I hope there is an incoming move. The deadline for luxury tax calculation is already passed. Worst case, we're just trying to be super cheap and avoid having to make salary payments.

I do find it humerous your strong stance on DFS, when all of your wording could be used for Jalen Green, someone you harped on about for four straight years defending.

It's funny how fandom makes us skew our thoughts for certain players.

The Rockets would love for us to think that Stone didn’t know about DFS’s ankle and Fred’s knee.

The Green over Mobley thing is silly in my opinion. Mobley has stagnated too. He wouldn't be a difference maker here. The only plus I can think of for having Mobley rather than Green is he's just good enough that we might not have traded him for Durant. And I'd love to never have Durant on our team. That said, we still wouldn't have a scorer in that case.

The DFS thing is fine to complain about, but Stone has won more than he's lost with free agent signings. First it was FVV, Dillon and Jock, who all out performed our expectations. Then last season he signed Okogie, who outperformed expectations. DFS and Capella are the only losers, but if you go back and look at those signings, the general consensus around here was they were great signings for what we paid for them. I get that perhaps the Rockets should have more intel than us as fans, but it still just seems disingenuous to make a big deal about it if you were on board at the time.

Glad to see we moved on. Never seen a player so unplayable. 3 seconds is a good haul for Charlotte. That's a very costly mistake for the Rockets!

Mobley would be a good fit with this current group. There is a reason Cleveland has not been willing to part with him. He is an excellent defensive player and still has the potential to be an outside threat. He’s not the unicorn folks thought he was, but I was impressed with him through part of the playoffs. I would do Sengun, FVV, and a frp for him for sure and probably 2 frps. He is a much better fit with our team. If they would take KD, filler and frps it would be a slam dunk, but that is a non-starter for Cleveland. The Durant move was all about Stone saving face after losing out on Booker. It was an extremely selfish move on his part.

He's a max player who isn't a max player. If we would have had to pay him like they did, I'm incredibly glad he's not on our team.

    DFS peak rocket moment.

    Game 5 vs Lakers

    6 points on 2-5 3-point shooting. 3 rebounds. 1 turnover.

He makes 5M more than KD, although it will be escalating, but so will the salary cap. I’d rather have 3 more years of Mobley than 2 more years of KD, but it is a gamble. It’s about time this FO takes a gamble. Then again, after re-thinking this,I wouldn’t take the gamble as long as Ime is coach. It is better to hope we run it back and get rid of him and Stone for good next year (that’s a gamble as well).

Green in lieu of Mobs enabled the Alpi acquisition. So, ok by me.

That was the deadline for last season. They are trying to duck the tax THIS season.
