Adams wouldn’t be enough. Rui is going to be about a 25m a year guy. More like Adams, Reed or FVV and a pick.
I may be overestimating his value. If it would take less then great. He shot 44% from 3 last year and is a 39% career 3 pt shooter. 6’8” decent defender at 28 years old. He made 18m last year. There is no way you could get him for Adams salary. That kind of shooting is in high demand (better shooter than Trey Murphy III that NOP want 3 frp’s for and makes 29m and wants a big extension). If we had a choice of Rui for 3 or 4 years at 25m without giving up frp’s or Trey Murphy average of 29 over 3 years and giving up 3 frps, I’m going with Rui big time.

That is the head scratcher and gives some hope they are actually still pursuing something else. Of course, it could’ve been initiated by Charlotte and they didn’t want to pass up the opportunity in case they changed their mind.
