    I read the Miami Heat were also interested in him. I'm surprised he would've passed up a possible starting spot there to take a bench role on the Sixers. His contract is also way lower than I thought he would get. Tari may get pennies at this point.

    I think Simons learned from his experience with the Celtics he's better as a gun off the bench instead of being a starter when the team is actually good.
    The player option for the 2nd year keeps him in control of his destiny. He might be betting on a big payday next summer.

    On the Sixers side, they get an older version of Jared McCain who will definitely win them some games during the season.

    I thought Simons would surprise people and develop into an impact player in the NBA. He's a legit spectacle when his shot is falling but consistency hasn't been his thing.
