He had an up-and-down series, in which the best games he had were when he took leadership of the team by the reins as Amen stated. Without a doubt, this whole last season he struggled, yet he still was an all-star and an overall productive player. Without a doubt he has to be better. However, let's not exaggerate and start saying he was bad on the games he was good. To answer your question, let's ask AI again. AI response - Key highlights from his performance include: The Highs: Şengün flashed his immense playmaking and scoring abilities. He tallied an incredible near triple-double in Game 5 with 14 points, 9 rebounds, and 8 assists, and famously posted a massive 33-point explosion earlier in the series. [1, 2, 3, 4] The Struggles: He had trouble matching up with L.A.'s size and experienced interior defense, notably shooting just 6-for-19 (19 points) in a tough Game 4. Furthermore, the Lakers actively targeted him in switches, leading to mixed reactions on his overall defensive impact. [1, 2, 3, 4] Leadership: Despite the offensive inefficiencies, Şengün was widely credited for his leadership. He notably delivered a rallying locker room speech before Game 4 that sparked the Rockets to stave off a sweep. [1] Overall Series Statistics Over the 6-game series, Şengün averaged: Points: 20.3 PPG Rebounds: 10.2 RPG Assists: 4.7 APG [1] Game-by-Game Breakdown Here is how Şengün performed in each individual contest, according to NBA Official Tracking: Game [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7] Result Box Score Stat Line Key Takeaway Game 1 L 98-107 19 PTS, 6 REB, 8 AST Efficient playmaker early, but L.A. shot 60% to steal the opener. Game 2 L 94-101 20 PTS, 11 REB, 5 AST, 4 STL, 2 BLK Massive defensive effort with 4 steals despite team shooting struggles. Game 3 L 108-112 (OT) 33 PTS, 16 REB, 6 AST, 3 STL A career-defining playoff performance in an agonizing overtime loss. Game 4 W 115-96 19 PTS, 6 REB, 2 AST, 1 BLK, 1 STL Battled through a rough shooting night to help the Rockets avoid a sweep. Game 5 W 99-93 14 PTS, 9 REB, 8 AST, 2 STL Played 43 minutes and fell just shy of a triple-double to keep Houston alive. Game 6 L 78-98 17 PTS, 11 REB, 1 AST, 2 BLK Logged a double-double, but the offense stalled in the elimination loss. Let's recognize that he still was productive if not playing like an all-star, thus below expectations. Does that satisfy you? Because while he was below expectations, he ain't nowhere near the scrub ya'll try to make him out to be.
He was talking about FVV and I still don’t agree with him. Not rewriting history. If you think I’m misremembering his performance in the series, fine.
I keep saying he could stand to lose about 10 lbs which will go a long way in helping with his lateral quickness on defense and getting higher off the floor for his inside game.
LOL never said he was a scrub but for a 5th year player he seems regressed in the playoffs especially in the closing game
Glad to hear it stated outloud, what you just said is accurate. None of the dramatic stuff, good job. Time will tell if it was a down year or a true regression, but good you recognize he's not a scrub unlike others rewriting history. Kudos.
This is so funny. What’s worse, a rookie with 0 nba minutes calling out our center or rookie Harper saying he ran the same play on Sengun 15 times in a row. Either way it should let you know
This is another reason we should shop Sengun. He will never give it up. He is a hero in Turkey. I can't blame him, but he is going to wear out every year.
Saw Tyler Herro reposted this...an obvious dig at the Heat who now have two guys on that list. But regarding the Rockets, I just dont see how they can challenge the best in the league come playoff time with Amen and Sengun playing so many minutes and being such pivotal pieces. Too easy to defend, cant generate enough points. Miami will have their own issues with Bam and Giannis, but Giannis is at least an mvp caliber player who brings a lot of other things to the table + they are both better 3pt shooters. This team has a lot of other issues, but these two together has got to be near the top of the list.
Alpi is playing against Bosnia right now. Started the game with two TOs and one complaint to the referee.
