the only Irving connectivity to the Rox I see is KD. KI is his, self-stated, player to ball out with

IF there was to be a connection it would start with Alpi and then fill the incoming/outgoing out with $ being the next great match in this. IF IF IF there was any connectivity.

If you think a team goes 52-30 while earning the No. 2 seed in the West with a "bottom five" PG, Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, Jabari Smith Jr., Alperen Sengun, and a "brain dead coach," I dunno what to tell you.

Would you send FVV, DFS and the 2027 pick swap back to Phoenix for Jalen?

It gives the Rockets an extra wing scorer to relieve KD, the Rockets keep their own 2027 #1 draft pick, while keeping Brooklyn's 2027 draft pick and Jalen only has one extra yr on his contract.

PLUS, IT GIVES THE ROCKETS ROOM TO RE-SIGN TARI

    PG - Amen/Smart
    SG - Jalen/Reed
    SF - KD/Bogi
    PF - Jabari/Tari
    C- Sengun/Adams

I don’t think Suns would trade Jalen back for that. Y’all might think Jalen a bum but not bum enough for broken FVV & DFS

Im with you but to get the rights back to their #1 draft pick is huge! Plus they will have 35 - 40mm in cap relief after next yr.

If you think the Suns will be bad enough to want that pick for FVV & DFS then I’d rather keep it ourselves lol. I don’t think they make that trade. Jalen carried them to the playoffs with couple good play in performances. I don’t think they trade him and probably a better team than us this year with how it’s looking

Until the past few days, I didn't know how many people don't understand just how serious a torn ACL is. It is absolutely fair (and also common sense) to say that it's like a "knee exploding." It is very serious. It is the most debilitating injury an NBA player can have, other than maybe an Achilles. The vast majority also have damage to other ligaments, i.e. Fred and the meniscus. There is absolutely a risk that Fred does not come back the same.

An ACL doesn't just 'tear' when injured, it actually explodes! An ACL injury also involves your entire knee joint, not just the ACL itself. In this educational video, find out what happens inside your knee joint when the ACL is injured. (Video link)

It is also exactly what Fred and the Rockets have known since September 2025. There is absolutely zero new information that has come out in the past week. It's baked in, and the outlook/prognosis is exactly the same as it ever was.

I don't think Bryson is making anything up, but he's also not saying he was told it from anyone connected to the team or Fred. What's happening is online fan fiction based on a combination of A) misinterpreting those podcast comments and B) wishcasting from fans who want a big trade and desperately want out of the Fred business. They're attempting to connect random dots because it makes them feel good. Copium, if you will.

I saw him shoot a bank shot in one of the highlights and when I saw your post I'd heart it if I could! :)

On another note, I'm perplexed by the lack of bank shots in today's basketball. I used it quite a bit in my bball life, especially on days that I was a little off. It gave me another focal point and many times got my rhythm back. There's probably some advanced analytics as to why it's rarely used today, I'll have to investigate that.

With all that said, I do want to restate the distinction:

It's definitely not impossible that they trade him. Given the combination of post-ACL recovery risk, expiring contract, and no NTC, it would be foolish not to at least consider your options. But it's simply not accurate to act like they're aggressively shopping him, or that he wants out, or that anything has changed in the past week or so. (Other than him opting in, but that's been known/inevitable for a while. Baked in.)

In all fairness, Fred’s recent IG behavior seems to indicate he feels he might be parting ways with the team soon.

Man, **** FVV - he was an average guy who did a job here on the Rox and helped change the culture.

Nothing special about his play at all, he couldn't shoot (Just like some of us said) he couldn't finish at the rim and he couldn't create.

Off to the GLUE FACTORY Fred, you got paid handsomely to help the young guys grow and you did it.

You had a decent NBA career - and you made bank because of what Kawhi did for you in Toronto.

Your services are no longer required.....here is a Swatch for your time.

As with the podcast comments, I think there's a lot of misinterpreting going on because people are starting from the premise of their desired outcome (Fred off the team), and then backfilling/cherry picking evidence to support that narrative.

I’ll walk back “clearly” to “more than likely”. I’m not 100% out on Reed but the clock is ticking.

How good Fred was at 21 is irrelevant. Reed isn’t Fred.

I’m not saying Reed can’t be a plus NBA player, I’m saying that I don’t think he’s a PG. IMHO, the only reason the PG role is even being discussed is because he’s small. Reed’s game screams SG to me.

Reed definitely has gravity with his shooting.

Yes, Reed isn't Fred, Reed has a MUCH higher ceiling than Fred.

If you cant see the PG skills... that's fine, most others can, give it time and I'm sure eventually the rest of you guys will see it when it becomes so obvious it's impossible to miss. He's almost there now.

We won 52 games because FVV, Jalen, and Dillon were good perimeter defenders which allowed Amen to roam and protected Sengun on the defensive end. Our half court offense was complete sh*t. I was calling it out all year, that the regular season was fool's gold and we would suck come playoff time. FVV, as the supposed floor general, was just as culpable as Jalen for that putrid offense. A pg that can't create is a bad pg. Statistically he was worse offensively than bottom 5.

Many of us wanted Fred included in the KD trade, and a good GM would have got rid of him then.
