Basketball is a team game. Trey Murphy would likely be the 3rd best player on the Rockets next season. JB is better than Murphy, but Murphy is younger and costs a lot less. JB would basically lock up the Rockets salary such that they would likely have to purge young talent in 2 seasons to keep him. I don't like the Rockets roster that would be around JB nearly as much as Boston had around him.

If you want someone to take you seriously, start off by not insulting them.

 

In hindsight its kind of interesting that the Rockets are the ones targeted here.

Giannis only wanted Miami and was traded for all of their assets basically.

Jaylen Brown was deemed as a bad contract and was dumped for 2 picks.

The Rockets and the rest of the league were not involved in those two trades.

Neither of these two moves would have catapulted the Rockets into contender status. Sometimes its better to bide your time. If Anthony Edwards comes available and the Rockets don't offer 6 FRP and the entire roster, then i'll be annoyed.

Sam Presti built around SGA even as he was in and out of the lineup with injury. He got lucky with Jalen Williams being as good as he was. He was able to pounce on Caruso. He lucked into pick 2 and drafted Chet. He never blew his load on a superstar trade. He fleeced the Rockets in trading Westbrook (revenge for Harden trade) and he fleeced a desperate Clippers team.

If the Rockets deem Alperen is not in their future plans they need to hold him to get their grandfather offer with a young player who isn't being properly rated. Think Tyrese Halliburton or SGA. Do I trust this FO? Absolutely not, but there's no other choice.
