Like most political issues, everything is taken out of context and hyper focused on the fringe. Then policy is formed around the fringe which then leads to rampant abuse. For example, the constitution gives citizenship to anyone born on US soil. Full stop. Nothing much to discuss at this point. The framework of the constitution does not guarantee a Standard/Duty of Care but yet we have people arguing it does, whether they realize it or not. So for example, someone comes into the US and has a child but neither parent is a US citizen. The child would have US citizen rights for life. The reasonable expectation would be if the parents wish to resume parental control, they would have to take the child back to their country/home. The alternative option would be to give it up to adoption in the United States. Its absurd to expect the parents to automatically receive citizenship also. I don't have a problem with foreigners coming into the country, having a child here, and going back to their country with the understanding the child has a right to US citizenship in the future. In the grand scheme, the immigration process is used and abused by political parties across the spectrum. The vast majority of Americans support immigration in at least an orderly and competent fashion. Open borders and anything-goes mentality is extremely unpopular

It’s not a law; it’s a constitutional right that has been locked in since the 1800s. Apparently, a portion of Americans didn't even realize this right existed. And an even larger portion clearly has no idea how constitutional amendments actually work. But for those who do understand, this 5-4 ruling is terrifying. The real tragedy is that this case even made it to the Supreme Court in the first place, and that four judges were perfectly willing to let a president erase a constitutional amendment via executive fiat.
I genuinely believe this rises to the level where all four should be impeached. I dont care so much about bubba in coon holler kentucky crying about this because they aren't educated enough to know better. I care about people who are so educated that they can't claim they didn't know better but led the charge to subvert the supreme legal authority of the land anyway.
