Shopping? More like Discount sale with a minor pick attached

Not buying into it, on one leg FVV is probably going to get you 13 and 5.....half kidding but you have to check if he can move at least.

Love FVV on the court, but he was never a really smart guy off the court......

with him taunting refs....would not be surprised if he is totally wrong on his knee assessment.

    Waste of energy.

Just continue to develop ur Young 3 of Sengün, Amen and Reed. Plus Thornton. Give Bari some time.

Kyrie just taking minutes away from Reed, Thornton.

For the record, if anyone cares, I've heard pretty much the exact opposite.

But again, I don't want to be super declarative. An ACL tear is a big deal for an NBA player, especially a small guard in his 30s. It is like a "knee exploding," and everyone involved has known that since last September. So, yes, there is at least some risk of a bad outcome. You never entirely know until the player starts truly ramping up for real games.

But in terms of all the checkpoints thus far, everything seems encouraging. Have heard that from both the team's side and player's side. I would expect that he's ready to go at the start of training camp in late September.

Yet, with all that said: He's on an expiring deal and no longer has a no-trade clause, and the post-ACL risk is real. So the team should do its due diligence on the market, and I think they are doing that and will continue to do so. But I do think the most likely scenario is that he's a good/winning player this season, so they're not gonna do a deal just to do one and sell him for pennies on the dollar, just to move on.

The injury that I'd be more concerned about is DFS, though perhaps that's baked in after last season.

I am not an expert but I have been following the Nba for a long time and I know how the expiring contract game works. Expiring contracts are at their peak value in February because more then half of the player salary has been paid by the other team. If Fred was completely recovered and had game film post injury that would be different, but he doesn't. Fred is on the team till Feb 2027 might as well used to it.

I'll be interested next season in the individual development of our youth.

As for the team I have no expectations for a long run. It'll be easier to tune out the losses. In fact, a poor season might be more beneficial to the longterm fate of the franchise.

Folks, it’s the silly season. Rumors and speculation are not facts.

This is all very tame stuff compared to DeAndre Jordan barricaded in a house while Mark Cuban frantically drives around Houston knocking on peoples doors.

sounds right, but @The Cat how do u reconcile that with the weird stuff Fred had been posting, the lack of workout videos, and his unhelpful public comments about his knee?

Also, on any potential connection to Smart:

My personal opinion is that we should look at Smart as a second attempt to fill a lot of what Dillon did, i.e. being the defensive anchor and tonesetter. The first attempt was DFS, and obviously that was a complete disaster.

But for those saying that bringing in another guard must mean that Fred is on his way out, i.e. there's no role for him if he stays (I've seen this a lot on social media): If you really believe that, it makes zero sense to trade Fred for Kyrie. Kyrie basically has the same body, a higher on-ball usage rate, and his "knee exploded" in 2025, too.

Me personally, I'd be open to Kyrie because I think he's a really good player. But if your conclusion is that bringing in Marcus Smart means there's no role for Fred, the answer shouldn't be trading Fred for another small guard with his own post-ACL risk.

The upcoming seasons vibes with a salty FVV, jaded Tari and Dickerson are going to be awesome.

Why FVV would leak this: not to stay. Obviously cant stay when youre leaking this stuff. But more to tank the value the Rockets will get for him. He knows hes now an expiring contract and nothing more. Makes me think less of him because the Rockets did actually take care of him. But people gonna people.

I don't think he thought anything of the comments to Bev. He also said his knee "swelled up to the size of a basketball," I'd bet my entire life savings that Fred didn't wake up from his post-injury nap and literally have his knee at 30 inches in circumference. Just two friends informally shooting the breeze on a pod, it wasn't meant to be a New York Times report.

As for workout videos, no idea, players aren't required to post anything like that. As long as team doctors know what he's doing and are in the loop, not sure why I need to see it.

And the "weird stuff," yeah, I'm sure this offseason is brutal on him. A year ago, he planned on getting a longer-term deal right about now. Instead, his injury took away that path, and he's also turned into a virtual pinata on social media because a lot of fans have decided that he's a symbol of everything wrong with the team. I'm sure it's hard on him, mentally
