Imai's disasterpieces are far too f**king bad. Once again he crushed the team for not only one game, but the bullpen for multiple games.
We've seen signs of Altuve falling off the last 2 seasons but it's a been a huge drop off this season. It's getting hard to watch honestly.
Diaz... what are the bad attributes we can clearly see ?? - does he set his glove for location well ? - does he receive well for any chance of framing ? - does he block dirt throws well ? - CS baserunners ? Are we talking about pitch selection ? Vasquez and Diaz can both be lazy at times -- Diaz maybe more so last year at least -- but most catchers are. Diaz needs to hit.
Those late comeback wins recently might hurt us in the long run. Can't even talk "being bad in RISP" because half the team is going out of the zone swinging most of the game. Walker still looks like he's not seeing anything, just hoping ball comes to his windmill swing path. His eyes even look like somehow allergic wet and red. Is it Chaz eyes (late night boozing) or does he need new contacts. Still keeping Diaz on team when we already have Altuve, blind Texas Walker, rooks who can't handle zone kinda signals no aproach needed and do whatever how many years you want because you had good start to career before other teams adjusted. Kid brings nothing behind plate and is stubbornly stating he will not change anything in batters box. He will run into some homers and prob that buys him rest of Astros team control time to clown around and lose us games regularly. Twins are actively trying to lose and have 81m payroll. We have 1 win more than them. They slapped us even with making 2 errors. If you are in camp that (let's forget recruiting, drafting, development and such which ofcourse is under Dana too) thinks Dana and Joe are doing ok with what we have and it's just injuries unlucky bad start again I have to disagree. We still have no accountability in this team and we have no interest getting the best out of each player to help team win. Only pressure to play good baseball is beer pressure which is diminishing by the day. We have org aproach that we are here as team to oblige players. Some teams have other thoughts. Some teams lay the law when we are dishing out Burger King crowns for getting shoes tied. Pratt getting promoted. Pratt is already extended so he is set for life as is Chourio. One might ponder what would Diaz output look like if he would have 8 year deal. Prob would be smoking weed in dugout with pirate eyepatch on. " I’m confident he’ll be a team, winning player. That’s who he is,” Murphy said. “In our organization, that’s a priority. … “I don’t candy-coat it, and I’m not looking for a soft landing. I said, ‘Cooper, if you’re looking to take the pressure off, go someplace else. Because there’s pressure, and there’s standards here to play winning baseball. If you’re not ready for that, this is going to be a lost cause.’ "
Losses like last night are just a kick in the nads, just when I think were about to pull out of this tailspin, Imei can't even go past 2 innings.......the kid has some good stuff, but he is just so inconsistent. The golden age is over and now we have to re-tool and that starts with Joe, he has to go as soon as the season is over. Dana B, you have to go to, Thanks for all you have done but we need a fresh start. The hardest part about the next few years is watching my favorite player Altuve looking like a shell of himself while earning a huge paycheck which just makes it feel worse........but hey, I will continue to watch and then b**** and moan but just think, training camp for the Texans is less than a month away so we have that
Imai's problem is between the ears. I always thought of Framer as a head case. I think Imai has gone above and beyond Framer as far as head cases go.
Sadly, the biggest reason I want Imai to do well over the rest of this season is so that he opts out of his contract and gets overpaid somewhere else.
