Why do we need to get younger in the context of guys over 32? They will be gone in 2 yrs max. You are complaining about something that will resolve itself. We need them to win right now it doesnt matter if they are over 32.
28 is younger than 32. Your stat for 28+ ends at 32 thus we need to get young with regards to the guys over 32.
If you extrapolate on the Rockets being 10th in attempts, would they still be 10th in the league? And yes, one of the top ten in three point shooting is the champion, and four of them made it to the top, then that 10th spot means nothing. If that is fine with fans who just look at a narrow context, sure, that is great. But how will adding another non shooter move the Rockets from a perennial one and out record during the past two seasons? How is 10th place any good when there is no addition to move it much higher? Yes, long range shooting is a weakness of this team, and there is no way to spin it. Otherwise, it would be among the top four teams in the league.
Even if we add another shooter it wont matter as long as Ime is the coach because the reason we dont shoot as much threes is because Ime wants it that way. Which is why Ive been saying he needs to be gone. He's too outdated. He's JVG or THIBBS and we need a Mike Brown or Joe Mazzulla
These are my favorite types of posts. According to CF we have 2 HOF level players. Apli is obviously Joker and now Reed is Harden. Someone needs to inform Stone and Ime.
Again the guys over 32 are gonna be gone in 2 yrs. Like I said the issue you are saying will resolve itself. the question is will guys over 32 gonna have a severe dropoff in 2 yrs yes or no? If not then its not an issue. If yes half of them will be gone at the end of the year and the rest will be gone in 2 yrs. I told you already I addressed your context you are the one who didnt read.
If youre willing to wait 2 years good for you. Im not we never should have got KD and never should have got a bunch of old dudes who are likely rarely gonna play or will play badly due to age and injury. They will be worn out by the playoffs. I just dont see the point. If thats what you want to watch more power to you. You got what you want. I am not happy with it.
You dont wanna wait 2 yrs but you are angry at getting old guys who can win now? What do you want to watch? A bunch of young guys losing every year and giving the pick to OKC? You cant even wait 2 yrs but somehow arguing for a youth movement get real bro. If we didnt have these old dudes we wouldnt even make the playoffs, did you watch first round last year?
I dont know what this means. Im not trying to just give guys contracts just to be on the team. If we know the league is trending younger and the deep run playoff teams didnt play anyone over 32 aside for 2 people in the East and both those teams got steam rolled. Im not seeing why we dont just go younger now and use these two years for our younger team to grow together. Again if you want a bunch of barely playing injured old guys in the playoffs that wont be here in a couple of years good for you. Thats not what I want.
The younger guys are indeed growing together. You realize 30% of the roster is 23 and younger? You act like the entire team is old. Amen Sengun Jabari Reed Thornton Tari these guys will get valuable playoff experience with the old guys they wouldnt get otherwise. We dont have a 26 yr old MVP or freaking Wembanyama to carry the team to deep playoff runs otherwise. Without vets this team would suck and not even make the playoffs. What kind of growing will they do then? To top it off we would have given our pick to OKC the last couple of years so being bad wouldnt even have a reward. You kept saying read context do you know the context of our rebuild? Yes or no?
Quoted for truth Teams are making moves left and right. Ime/Stones answer, sign Bogdanovich and Smart. LMAO, this isn't a serious franchise.
Nah. Wanna bet Rox will be better than 5-6? riding the treadmill of 40-50 wins except we just won 52 games b2b. You guys arent serious.
C'mon, just because Marcus Smart hasn't been good in 5 years, just because he's so terrible with the ball in his hands that he'd have had the highest turnover rate of any non-center Rocket on the roster last season, just because he can't shoot the ball for ****, Just because he's quite literally worse than Josh Okogie, and just because Ime Udoka is dumb enough to prioritize keeping him on the court as long as possible....doesn't mean it's a bad signing. I hear we're doing very well this offseason.
Continuing to develop 4 or 5 of our young guys into a core as the focus. The veterans on the team are there to help teach and to help set a floor. do I expect us to contend for the title over the next two years? Not really. That being said, we have a lot of draft assets that are valuable and we have contracts that are set up to be expiring and even the players themselves to be relatively helpful. whether the franchise player is already on the team, or whether we trade for him or whether we draft him later on we still have to soldier on. Building around Amen/Smith/Eason/Reed and even Alpi is fine with me. Hell, Okogie is only 24. Sign him up for a four-year extension and let him be the 9th or 10th man at worst. Obviously, I’m not saying we are in Pole position. But there are a lot of that are way, way worse off. Hopefully things either improve rapidly or the front office and coaching structures are held to account.
