TBH, if Bogdan is still effective enough to light a fire under Reed if Reed is doing Reed things, then the Bogdon signing was a win.

I suspect that Bogdan's days are pretty much over, and he doesn't have much left in the tank, but I hope he turns back the clock this season.

If it's even a question in Ime's mind that the team is better off playing a vet min player or a 2nd round pick rookie over former THIRD PICK IN THE DRAFT Reed Sheppard, then we have a SERIOUS problem with Reed, and that's a miss in the draft that should get a GM fired.

Oh you're citing raw +/-, I was giving you too much credit.

So you think it's best to ignore literally all of his personal stats and focus on the raw plus minus numbers of the combined Lakers starters when Smart happened to share the court with them.

That's just galaxy brain stuff. Congratulations.

A 3rd pick in the draft should have enough talent to where ANY coach has no alternative but to play that player or get fired for personal animus.

This isn't like the coaching choice of playing Terrence Jones over Motiejunas.

From a talent perspective (according to where he was drafted and the hype by his onlyfans) playing whomever over Reed would be like the 99 Mavericks playing Robert Pack over Steve Nash.

It's up to Reed to be talented and good enough to make that decision one that Ime cannot avoid. I'm sorry... I know you guys obsess over Reed, but you guys are notorious for removing any agency that Reed has. Maybe I'm old school but holy crap... make the coach HAVE TO play you.

There are several different numbers you could be citing, on-off compares him to his replacement... but that's not what you cited, you cited raw on off which just says what his unit.... the starters did against the other team in random games.

So if LeBron played well, it boosted the number.

It's ridiculous that you actually tried to make that argument but I guess you really had nothing valid to go on

    What I've been referencing doggie

Would be odd if LBJ or Luka is what's elevating his on off given that again, his is higher than them combined.

True, they could play it either way.

So you were citing the more worthless number after all... awesome... either you know that no one cites that and you're dishonestly trying to sell a scrub, or you don't know any better and aren't someone who should be trying to discuss basketball.

    You pick.

Either way, we're done here, thanks for the laugh.

Why do you feel these need to frame everything with a tag at the end? If you're destroying me it would evident without all the extra words no?

I really don't care to own you, or win, or whatever this is about for you. I'm just talking basketball and genuinely disagree with the assessment that Smart is a total negative, I think it's empirically wrong.

DARKO, LEBRON and CraftedNBA all have Smart having both a positive impact, and a higher impact than Reed last season, those are the only specialized advanced stat websites that I know of.

It was a good convo I guess, gonna tag out, enjoy the win once you hit me with a rebuttal about the digged hole and what not.

That's fine, double down on the hot take, I'll remind you about it 5 it 6 months from now and you can attempt to walk it back or pretend you never suggested something this stupid.

    Have fun.

Literally have only referenced last season, there's nothing relevant to this discussion in 6 months. If he sucks he sucks, if he's good he's good, if he's ok he's okay.

Last season he was a net positive player, more so than Reed, has been this entire discussion from me.

Honestly - this signing is "whatever".

He costs little and will be deep on the bench.

His lower body has aged poorly and he looks washed - but there is basically no risk either.

I don't think anyone should beat up the Rockets for this signing -- they are hoping he has a good year physically and that translates to hitting shots.

He is too slow to be a good defender at this point - but he is tough and smart, so he won't let things get out of control when he is on the floor and he will reign in the younger guys.

Houston agreed to a one-year, fully guaranteed minimum contract with wing Bogdan Bogdanovic on Tuesday, a person with knowledge of the deal confirmed. The league minimum for a nine-year veteran is $3.52 million, per Spotrac.
