I think AI is going to become thoroughly exploited and propagandized, I wouldn’t set it as a benchmark.

I always check Reddit for product recommendations, it’s such a great cheat code, but I know the day will come, if it hasn’t already, where companies will mass spam fake “authentic” reviews/recommendations for crap as an effective advertisement method to the point where it becomes useless.

When there’s money to be made, people will take a hold of it, when there’s an effect tool for propaganda, people will take a hold of it.

I'm sure there will be foundation AI models that are "propagandized." But the market might push back against that, such models probably won't be as profitable as their non-propagandized ones. This is really hard to predict. But if I had to bet, I'd say propagandized AI is less profitable, and there will always be better foundational models available for people to use. At that point, it's like what you have today: you can choose your news source, I mean your model.

I wasn't talking about the models themselves being mal-programmed, but independent actors manipulating the raw data and disrupting the methods which AI "learns" from to game desired outcomes. I'm sure what you're describing will happen as well, mecha hitler and what not.

The only thing? no. But yes, American ego is well observed.

Yes. Absolutely yes. You view the world from a zero sum game. Us vs Them. 1 loser, 1 winner. Thus your list of wars with nice little check boxes.

I was addressing that too, and it ties back to my original point.

Foundational models can't really be manipulated the way you're describing. They cost 10s to 100s of billions to build and are controlled entirely by the big labs that own them. Smaller models are a different story: they can be fine-tuned or "appended" with additional data, and their safeguards can be stripped out by anyone who knows how, then released publicly for others to use. Some political actors might want to do exactly that. I doubt those models can be trusted, and as I said, they probably won't be as profitable as the better foundational models anyone can access.

There's also a separate angle: some people might prefer to run models locally rather than on the cloud for privacy reasons, if they have the money for the hardware (think $10k+). Pretty niche right now, but could go more mainstream over time (as costs come down and HW capability goes up).

Either way, the market dynamic I mentioned still applies. You'll have better options available, and like choosing a news source... I think most people will gravitate toward what actually works over what's ideologically....

Have been to France a few times. It's pretty cheap to catch a Ryanair flight from Ireland. We flew into Marseille and talk about folks hating on a city because of ego. If French folk do not live in Paris, they hate Parisians. Most anywhere in France I have been, talking to folks I run into they find Parisians to be snobs and arrogant. Most feel all funding goes to Paris while they get the crumbs of government assistance.

Ironically, I have been to France 4 times but have never been to Paris.[/QUOTE]

As someone who works in tech, I have to tell you: Reddit astroturfing is rampant and will only get worse as AI search engines rely on it even more than they already do.

Honestly, I trust sites like this one more than Reddit. The latter has volume, but we have a 20+ year community of known posters.

Posting the American war record isn't really a display of ego.

That is so incredibly far from how I view the world.

The president's that I have liked most have been able to work with our allies to benefit all parties.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday that he wants to end American financial aid to Israel, arguing that the country’s economy is now strong enough to sustain itself without US assistance.

“I want to stop American aid. It’s like welfare; I don’t want it," Netanyahu said.

“Our economy is no longer a small economy… we can finance ourselves this fraction of a per cent of our GDP that we receive from the United States. I want this process to start this year," he added.

    LOL

    say less

    United States should happily oblige

    for sure

I feel like that’s starting to happen on the Democrat side…more and more AIPAC slaves are losing their primaries…receiving money from AIPAC is a huge knock against you as a Democrat, especially if your opponent doesn’t

all that screeching about “antisemitism” to stifle any criticism of Israel doesn’t work anymore

it’s to the point where some of the Zionist Dems are talking about leaving the party or being politically homeless, and nobody gives a fck because being pro-Israel is simply a losing issue and is only supported by like 20% of Democrats

No R is going to legally and fairly be elected to President in 2028. In fact, whomever gets nominated to run will be a good indicator on how legal and fair the GOP thinks it's going to be.

Whether its Marco (who I used to semi respect) or JD (loser) they will be tied to trump just like Kamala was tied to Joe and her as the Border Czar. It's not like they can go out and say they are radically changing things, otherwise the old man will come after them. I will not vote for ANYONE who even smells like maga has been close to them.

The base will do what trump says but they wont be blindly loyal to anyone other than trump. No one in this administration has a chance IMO, it will have to be someone on the outside like C Christie or Nicky Haley. I hope trump does push rubio because that will not end well at all

the Christie’s and Haley’s of the world would never survive the republican primary because those contests are all about how much you can dick ride Trump and the more extreme the better

atp, the worst Democrat is better than any republican…I’d even vote for John Fetterman over every single republican except for maybe Thomas Massie (think he claims to be libertarian, but at least he has some principles and some modicum of common sense while not being afflicted by the MAGA meat riding disease)…but Massie lost his primary for being against pedophilia

Are there any bigger p*ssies than Republicans? Seriously, these guys are so cowardly they are scared of standing up to the old pathological lying nutjob, grifter, and con Americans overwhelmingly disapprove of. These guys are cowards, and the biggest p*ssies to ever hold office in Congress and the Senate. Maybe they just like getting on their knees and pleasing him, as gross and repulsive as that is. The thought of that is enough to make me dry heave.

Am I the only one who remembers Rubio malfunctioning during the 2016 debate primary?
