Well, why not? The Rockets were ****ing terrible at closing games last year. No way that game 3 debacle happens with a player like Smart on the floor.

“In order to re-sign restricted free agent forward Tari Eason and free up the non-taxpayer mid-level exception to offer Marcus Smart a three-year deal in the range of $7MM annually, the Rockets are trying to move forward Dorian Finney-Smith, per The Stein Line. If those efforts are unsuccessful, Houston’s offer to Smart would have to be for just two years using the taxpayer mid-level exception (worth up to about $6.2MM per year).”

Gonna have to be something like DFS and 2 or 3 2nds for a trash player on a lesser but still bad contract from a tanking team who doesn't care about their MLE

Potential candidates - Dick(Clips), Hawkins (Pels), Kris Murray/Konchar (Grizz), Whitmore(lol)/D'Angelo(Wiz)

Or maybe they just offer Smart 6M and he still accepts cuz his Laker option was only 5M for 1 yr.

I lost my NBA Fantasy Title Because of John Konchar. I will hate him forever. Had 5 steals and 9 rebounds on Sunday of the final day. My opponents last pickup and it was random and won him the chip with both of those random stats.

Its 10M to sign with Lakeshow and play with Luka. To come off the bench in Houston behind FVV and Amen it will cost more.

Lakers can offer more extra $$$ than Houston in terms of endorsements and residuals like jersey sales.

If he is so good why Lakers let him walk? This is like his 5th team he isnt good thats why he keeps bouncing around. Plays 23 mins only score 9 pts it doesnt matter if your accuracy is high when you barely shoot.

Maybe its as simple as Smart can take the 5M option from the Lakers or he take the 21M/12M Rockets are offering.

lakers arent gonna chase Smart they want Grimes

If Stone is wrong for hiring Udoka then Udoka is the problem since Stone's mistake is hiring him. If Stone is a cuck to Udoka then removing Udoka would make him uncucked. Ever heard of root cause? If you replace Stone how do you know Udoka wont make the new GM a cuck too? He is the favorite of the owner, not Stone. Udoka got a 6 yr extension to start then got another 6 yr extension two years into his contract. Its logical Stone will follow Udoka's lead and get his type of players since he is the favored one. You want Stone to oppose Udoka and what? Get fired like Denver GM? lol gimme a break dude. Udoka is here to stay the owner loves him and he showed it with actions, high $$$ and long ass years. Either you work with Udoka or you gone and the owner will find a replacement who will work with Udoka. Fertita pays Udoka more than Knicks paid Brown and here you are blaming Stone. what a joke.

DFS and Capela arent joke contracts, in fact the DFS contract was smart since it was only guaranteed for 2 yrs. Who knew he would suck so bad after a supposedly minor ankle surgery that would have him playing by training camp? DFS literally a career 38% 3 pt shooter prior to last season. Thats why the contract is not a joke, it has protections. Ever seen Embiid and PG contracts? Thats the example of a bad contract, fully guaranteed max contracts. Why is Capela getting slandered? 7M for a dude who gives you 8/9 in 20 mins wow such a bad contract. If Stone can get Smart on 6-7M a year then thats also a great deal.

Yeah Stone cant build a team, thats why the team just won 52 games amirite? While having an iso offense too. Thats just on the strength of players Stone got with little assistance on the coach.

Give DFS a multi-year deal. Use draft pick capital to dump his contract so you can give Marcus Smart a multi-year deal.

This front office is truly a joke.

Seriously. Ime is flashing the worst tendencies of JVG when he was here. Picking up his former favorites when they are on their downward arc of their careers.

Kennard provides size, playmaking and, more importantly, spacing for your two young stars?

Nope, go get another terrible shooter to make Amen and Sengun’s lives harder.
