I mean, he has had dominant results throwing to Diaz since 2024, significantly better than Caratini. He wasn't properly indoctrinated into the "more than stats" cult of Maldonado so he probably has enough common sense to look at his actual results.

I would consider something like this: To Astros Kyle Tucker Dalton Rushing +cash To Dodgers Jeremy Pena Walker Janek Dodgers just need a capable backup behind will smith, Janek is all glove but can't hit. We take on say 75 million of Tucker's deal over 3 years so it's like we get him for 3 years 75 million instead of a 6 or 7 year deal for Pena. Frees up an outfield spot for Dodgers to bring up Tibbs to play RF (his original position). Rushing is becoming clubhouse issue with Ohtani and is blocked. Dodgers unload underperforming Tucker and put Pena at SS sliding Mookie back to 2B and benching light hitting Alex Freeland, their worst hitter. Pena would be playing cheaper for a year initially softening the blow of paying him and tuck. Then the 25 million saved on Tuck is used on him effectively. We play combo of Diaz and Rushing at catcher and DH with Yordan playing some LF and DH. Cam slides to CF for lefty Tuck in right. Correa and Paredes on leftside with Neyens and Brice slotted after Correa in depth chart.
Other than cheap stuff we get from China, Europe is actually less expensive than most major cities in the US. Vacation is also a priority.
It’s less the daily cheapness than knowing retirement is covered by a generous pension plan and there is no chance of a medical or end of life expense. They can actually afford to spend their salaries. I’ve lived in both and people in Europe enjoy life far more. (But I know, I know — economic productivity. Americans are amazing at working themselves to death making wall street additional money).

Oh get over it. Dubon was a backup for a reason. This is the first season he has been a better than average offensive player in his entire career and it's an ops+ of 107. He doesn't walk. He doesnt hit for power. He's a decent bat on the ball guy who won't strike out a ton. Those are a dime a dozen in this league. I understand he had some big moments and I would have liked to keep him, but he was a luxury at what he's getting paid. Nick Allen has a 79 ops+ right now with us. Dubon was an 84 as an Astro. It's had very little impact on this season.
Not to hammer it more, but Jake Meyers has a higher ops+ in his career than Dubon as an Astro. He's also a strong defensive player historically. And all we hear around here is how we need to upgrade from Jake....
You're referencing the past ("career")... I'm referencing the present. And yes, I do believe we need or he (Meyers) needs to upgrade. I think everyone agrees we need an All-Star OF stud, TODAY going forward-- not last year or the previous season's player's statistics/analytics.
because the europeans workforce actually care about their people enjoying life they might not become millionaires (like how millions of americans think they'll become millionaires) but at least they get to live life and travel
In America the amount of work you put in allows unlimited potential and the ability to to make as much or as little money as you like. You don't have to work hard if you wish. People that came to the world cup and saw the UsA for the first time seem to appreciate this country more than you do.
Yeah, europeans are silly that way. They think everybody should have healthcare, they don't let property owners decide housing in their area to raise value, don't let oligarchs own goverments and pollute water and air with punity and with multiple party systems cabinet members often have to resign even sit.just looking like corruption. Also if european makes a 10 billion selling toothpaste or exiting a startup he was angel investor, people don't look at him like Jesus come and takeover our goverment and lives. Also unions in Europe don't have mob history, their job is guarantee 5 weeks paid vacation, paid maternity leave, breaks, sensible weekly hours, real minimum wage and so on. Immigration having part too but they are trying to fix that.
