You trade him because 1) we won't win a championship with him in the next two years 2) get value out of him now at his highest 3) I don't think anyone likes playing with him bc he trashes his teammates.

He does have a good contract, trade him for value.

If theres no punishment for the Clippers and Kawhi other than fines the rest of the NBA teams should be pretty angry esp the 2nd apron teams. They paying fines and luxury tax when they can just make aspiration companies themselves.

By that logic why not just trade everybody and tank and suck? Nobody can predict what will happen did you think Spurs gonna make the Finals and Knicks gonna win 4-1 against them at the start of the season? Depending on how injuries play out Rockets are the third best team in the West after SAS and OKC, they have as good a chance as anyone else besides those 2.

KD trashing his teammates isnt anything new, lots of players do that. IIRC Kobe was mean to Jeremy Lin and MJ was outright bullying his teammates didnt really mean anything at the end of the day. Everybody just exaggerated the story but teammates bad mouthing others isnt anything new. Even Sengun said it wasnt a big deal and Jabari literally played better after the KD files dropped. Everybody who says KD destroyed the team are people who arent part of the team lol.

You guys dont realize the value of having a player consistently go 55/40/85 every night. Our offense was so bad it covered up how dominant KD was last season. Lets see this year with everybody improved, a bench that can handle the ball with Smart and an actual pg starter in FVV.

I think this is a fair trade. Brandon Ingram is a beast as well, but he's just as injury prone as Leonard.
Now the extension part I'm not sure, but this gives this team a proven vet. He's still a top 10 or 15 player. He's the machine. You know what you will get from him when he's out there.
I'm just tired of hearing these other teams making moves. Our scientific experiment is being ran consistenly with the same a and b variable. In reference to the young core. They have to move on from one of them because unfortunately I think some of them have hit their ceiling.

Leonard and Ballmer should be in prison for their financial fraud.

Kawhi Leonard and Scottie Barnes are an interesting duo. Slightly redundant though?

A nice set of defenders between those 2, Jamal Shead, and Colin Murray Boyles.

Kawhi is so old now though. It seems like this off season so far isn't really taking wear and tear into account too much. Giannis, Kawhi, and everyone will swoon when Lebron signs with the Worriers, but they are all three going to look super, duper old next season.

The Knicks, the Thunder, the Spurs: really darned young.

That old man made us look bad in the playoffs. Same with Kahwi in the regular season.

I don't think we should trade everyone and I don't think we would suck if we traded KD. You said depending on injuries we are third best behind OKC and SA. I think that if we're healthy and play great we could be third but won't automatically be third. We have to see how Den and Min rebound. Even then, third in the West means we're hard pressed to beat SAS or OKC to the finals, much less SAS and OKC. We haven't won a playoff series and KD didn't even play in the last one.

On trashing his teammates, KD did it publicly and it looked like his teammates were affected by this. I don't think the story was exaggerated, it looks to me like they tried to ignore it after it came out. And it didn't look like KD apologized for what he said. Our players are young and this had an impact on them.

KD's value is as a trade piece, not as a player that can get us third at best in the West.

My point is if you think its pointless to be third why stop at KD? Trading KD we wont be third anymore we dont have a closer and assets you get in trade wont give you 20/5/5 on 55/40/85. You saw this team when KD was out in the playoffs right? They struggled to score 90 pts a game. Lost by game 6 to Lebron and Gleaguers. You think that team doesnt suck? lol

we havent won a series because KD wasnt there. If you trade him guess what he wont be here so again we will be hard pressed to win a series. FVV, Smart and Adams are here to plug the holes on the team they arent here to replace KD. No one can replace KD until the core grows up to their potential.

"Our players are young and this had an impact on them" I already told you Jabari improved his play after the KD files dropped right? So what impact are you saying? Are you an insider and talked to Jabari personally?

Denver and Minny wont rebound, they just regressed big time. Denver has done zero moves and everyone is older. Murray sucks ass, the dunking dude is showing his age and Cam Johnson is on the decline as well. Wolves are even worse. Lost Naz Reid and all their big man depth. Also got Lamelo who is always a trip away from season ending injury.

Developing: The Los Angeles Clippers-Toronto Raptors trade centered on Kawhi Leonard will not be complete until the NBA investigation into the Clippers is over.

Statement from the Clippers to ESPN:

For the past 10 months, our organization has fully cooperated with an NBA investigation, participating in dozens of interviews, providing tens of thousands of documents, and facilitating access to our staff. While the process has been challenging, we have remained committed to transparency.

On June 30, we reached an agreement in principle to trade Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors. We have since been informed that the trade can only be finalized if the Raptors' ownership group assumes the risk of penalties related to Kawhi’s contract that could theoretically result from the ongoing investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and we expect the trade to be finalized following its conclusion.

At the heart of this investigation are Joe Sanberg and Aspiration. We did not funnel money to Kawhi Leonard through Aspiration. Like many sophisticated investors, financial institutions, and business partners, we were victims of a fraud initiated by Sanberg, who has been convicted and sentenced to 14 years in prison.

We recognize the uncertainty this has created and the impact it has had on our team, our fans, the Raptors organization, their fans, and the players whose futures remain affected while this process continues.

We remain confident that, when the facts are evaluated fairly and thoroughly, the NBA will confirm exactly what we have said from the beginning: We have not done what we are accused of doing.
