They've won it 4 times including in 2014 (only 3 cups ago). This analogy isn't even remotely close. It would apply to the Dutch if anyone...they've been to the final 3 times and never won.
This is baloney. If Norway keeps imitating Paraguay with just a 1-0 lead, it won't end well for them.
... and rightfully so. That was a car crash you could see coming from a mile away, just didn't think it would happen so soon, not even enough to get past Paraguay. And it's hard to come to terms with that a day later. Of course, as usual we got robbed by an overburdened referee that has no business calling games on this level, but that shouldn't be a factor when you look at the sheer talent level of both squads. To win a World Cup you need perfect timing more than anything else and ours was completely off. Wirtz and Woltemade were killing it just a year ago but their respective Premier League moves completely shut them down, no idea what happened to them. At the same time, the guys in rhythm, namely Karl, Gnabry and Schlotterbeck got hurt. Just one of them in yesterday's lineup and we get to see the next round. But that of course can't cover the total failure that Julian Nagelsmann has become. Communication, squad nomination, in game adaption - he pretty much failed at everything that makes a good coach on a national team level. The move from Leipzig to Bayern probably came to early and turned him into an arrogant, stubborn prick. Never learned his lesson from being fired, never looked back why Flick failed in 2022, made the very same mistakes. I could go on and on about him and his biggest mistakes (Leroy Sané!), but it looks like we don't have to worry about this pathetic loser anymore, his days should be numbered and Jürgen Klopp will take over, which is inevitable after what happened not just the past weeks but the last two years. 12 long years now since we played a goodish World Cup will turn into 16 years. Nothing left for me to do than hatewatch some of the rest of the tournament and look forward to EURO 2028 with no ad breaks mid-game.
