There’s a possibility that they might not even make it to the play in. KD is unhappy with the team and his trade value has dropped. How much gas is left in his tank at the age of 38?
We don't need instant gratification, there's no available trade this summer that will vault us into the OKC/SA tier. We need to showcase talent in 2026 and save all our FRPs for a clear #1 franchise player. Given his history, I expect Lamelo to be on the shelf before the trade deadline, and ANT's restlessness will begin to snowball... Sending vibes of disgruntilization ~~~~~~~》》 ANT
* Trade DFS with 3-4 SRPs for B.Portis * Use the TPE on Q.Grimes instead of Smart * Vet.Min. signings: Jock Landale, Kyle Anderson * Re-Sign Tari/Holiday/Okogie/Tate Sengun, Adams, Landale Durant, B.Portis, K.Anderson Kawhi, T.Eason, J.Tate Amen, Q.Grimes, Okogie T.Jerome, Shepperd, Holiday, Thornton this team will be legitimate contender for the next 2-3 years. and then when KD/Kawhi retired use the cap space and the 27'Nets pick and 29'Pho/Dal. pick to build around the young talents (Alpy/Amen/Tari/Grimes/Shepperd)
It seems like Duren may get SnTed for Sabonis... Would y'all consider offering Sengun? To me, it's intriguing. I know Duren totally collapsed in the playoffs, but he's still so young (even younger than Sengun) and was exceptional in the regular season.
No I would not offer Sengun for Duren. We don't even have a good pick and roll player to pair him with, so it would be a disaster watching him trying to operate in our offense.
Would y’all trade for Zach LaVines expiring? 39% 3pt shooting to fill a void for a year at guard FVV + DFS is only about $750k off on trade machine from working. Maybe they’ll take a broken Fred as a mentor for rookie Acuff
You're right, they would need to pick up a true perimeter creator to pair with him. It's just that the price is quite nice right now considering his impact during the regular season and age. He had one of the highest net plus/minus amongst centers in the league last year at only 22 years old. But I'm sure that is driven by a strong pairing with Cunningham. He'd give the Rockets a very different look to be sure.
Crazy we dumped this guy for nothing in favor of a washed Clint Capela that we’d have to attach picks to move off of and killed our cap flexibility. Just terrible judgement from our front office. Jock Landale to return to Hawks Jun. 30, 2026, 9:36 AM PDT Shams Charania: Free agent center Jock Landale intends to sign a one-year, $14 million deal to return to the Atlanta Hawks, sources tell ESPN. Landale had a strong finish after being traded to the Hawks, averaging 10.6 points and 5.7 rebounds last season, and his agents Sammy Wloszczowski and Mike Lelchitski of SIG Sports finalized the deal Tuesday. x.com
Houston Out: Fred/DFS/Bkn'27 1st rd pick Houston In: Jrue/Scoot Houston Outlook: Swap out Fred for Jrue. Especially nice if Fred is really gonna struggle. Jrue fits the system and what we look for under Ime. Also take a flyer on a recent top 3 draft pick with some nice upside and gives us another ball handler. Losing the brooklyn pick ifeels steep, but I like scoot as a prospect more than anyone in the 2027 draft(currently) and we still retain the Phx pick. We do take on 10m this yr and more long term money, but I think its an upgrade in both the short and long term. Portland Out: Jrue/Scoot Portland In: MPJ. Portland Outlook: They do seem down on Scoot and with the weird ownership going on seem to want to make some splash towards winning now, hence the Ja Morant trade. Adding MPJ gives them more depth and scoring on the wing and helps balance the roster. They also cut $8mill which probably appeases this ownership group. Brooklyn Out: MPJ Brooklyn In: Fred/DFS/'27 1st rd pick Brooklyn Outlook: They move an expiring deal and good player, for 2 seperate expiring deals they can try and flip. Getting their 1st rd pick back and the flexibility it brings is the big target here.
Rockets retooling Houston In: Trey Murphy III, DeJounte Murray and Cam Johnson New Orleans In: Jamal Murray, DFS, Reed Sheppard, Future Denver 1st, Future Houston 1st Denver In: KD FVV Murphy II Amen Jabari Sengun Bench of Eason, Murray, Johnson, Adams, Thornton.
Houston In Jermi Grant and Ty Jerome Memphis In: Reed Sheppard, DFS, Capela and a future Lotto protected 1st Memphis pick up a 1st round pick from the Ja trade. Rockets pick up two good 3&D players. FVV KD Amen Sengun Jabari Bench: Grant, Jerome, Eason, Adams, Thornton and other FA signings
Fred, Capela Draft capital for Kyrie Sengun, DFS for AD Sign Lebron with remaining MLE after Smart signing (He said its about happiness not money) Resign Eason Kyrie/Smart Amen/Reed KD/Eason Lebron/Jabari AD/Adams Still keep all your core Amen, Reed, Eason, Jabari and gives them serious deep playoff experience. Still keep most of your picks.

1) I don't hate it 2) forgot Smart 3) need to move FVV as well (also no way I would start FVV over Murray)
I think the idea of a center who can shoot is just way beyond Ime's ability to process it. He seems to be obsessed with offensive rebounding which requires dinosaurs like Steven and Clint staying in the paint.
the thing is, we could have had jock on the minimum last season. I get that we wanted 3 centers but we didn’t have to pay a washed up Clint $7 mil per for 3yrs guaranteed. We had a guy who played well that, to your point, offered an important skillset none of our centers had. We kind of shot ourselves in the foot. The Clint contract is constraining for no reason. These moves on the margins matter.
Given the Lebron courtship by GSW.... I wonder if it might be a good idea to send KD to GSW for Jimmy Butler AND their 2027 first round pick, and MAYBE either pick swaps or their 2032 first rounder. Reasons why GS would want to do this: -Jimmy Butler wants a contract extension in his last year, and Jimmy Butler is NOTORIOUS for being a problem when he wants his money -The Steph/Lebron/KD hype would be insane media wise -I believe this also gives GS like 10 mil additional to work with in free agency to make the Lebron/Dray signings work (cap experts can correct me) -For that 3rd star, KD is probably much more reliable, productive, and a better fit than AD. -KD has a better contract situation than AD. Reasons why the Rockets would do this: -Take a step back to get better in the long run with better draft assets -Butler could either be packaged back out, or could play a role on a 1-year deal -Butler fits the Ime persona really well -The bet here is a good one... That GSW are similar to the Karl Malone/Gary Payton Lakers and likely to flame out in a year if they are even competitive What do you guys think?
