He becomes trade eligible once he ops in, but it doesn’t stop you from extending him either. I think this means they will wait until the trade deadline to see what they want to do with FVV. I think they are really intent on running this back unless someone offers them a haul for Sengun. I don’t think Kd is on the table out all, unfortunately.

" We like what an overweight age 33 even more unathletic 1 leg Fred brings to the team. We think him and Adams are the missing piece to a title"

Completely exploded. I pulled a Fred on myself but I’m sure I’ll come back better and more efficient

Expirings are cool IF YOU TRADE THEM. That said, that actually is a pretty good expiring contract. I just hope they use it sooner rather than later.

At least we did not extend him and maybe there is a glimmer of hope that his contract could be used to acquire better talent (assuming we attach draft picks). Not holding my breath, but it's something.

They won’t trade for him, but he might help match salary in a bigger trade along with most of our draft pick assets. Never underestimate this FO’s capacity for dumbassery.

    It never should have been.

These contracts that the Rockets have given out, many of them are not good value.

The idea is to trade them as expiring contracts -- but that usually means taking on another bad contract.

Nothing against Fred but he should not be the One that is in the Drivers's seat.

AT ALL - he is just an expiring contract at this point.

Find a team that needs TAX relief and insert FVV.

Makes me think the injury isn't coming along as he hoped.

What did morey do that was so great? He brought in G league players and players on the cheap to surround stars. Many of those players were strictly 3-D guys who couldn’t generate their own offense off the drive or post etc.

Rockets original deal was flexible with a 3rd yr option and the restructured deal gives a player option in the 2nd year which he just picked up.

You have to go back to why they paid for him to come here. He was instrumental in changing this culture around and leading this team in building an identity. Him and Brooks were a big part of this team. He’s still a great pg and vocal leader and mentor and that’s likely why they want him here. Fans need to look beyond players being able to put a ball through a hoop. Building teams in sports isn’t that much different than other industries or fields. Spurs just re-signed Barnes who they didn’t even play in the playoffs and lost his job to vassel late in the season. They paid fox all that money as well to lead their young team. This isn’t uncommon or novel.

You have to go all in eventually. Most NBA champions are deep in the tax when they win.
