Is Jamal Murray really on the trading block? I think he’d be better for this team and development than KD or say Jaylen Brown

Trade machine hasn’t updated Bucks trade but I would love to flip KD & Fred for Murray and then somehow trade for Herro & Turner without giving up too much

    Murray / Smart?
    Herro /
    Amen /
    Jabari
    Sengun / Turner

    PG - Sheppard
    SG - Thompson
    SF - Tatum
    PF - Smith Jr
    ..C - Sengun

KD isn’t Rick’s type of guy. He runs a tight ship.

So I feel like the Rockets need to do something, but there aren't really a lot of great options for us. Here is a trade that gets us Ja Morant. A player with a negative value that could turn it around or could further continue to go downhill, but if we can get an FRP out of it, I think it's well worth the risk. My trade:

Rockets Receive: Ja Morant, Ty Jerome, Future FRP top 10 protected
Grizzlies Receive: FVV, Capela, and DFS

Grizzlies get to restart and rid themselves of Ja and receive two expiring contracts and Capela's small contract. Rockets take on the Morant risk along with also getting Ty Jerome who we could use, plus a top 10 protected FRP.

Murray getting ready for an (ouch) extension. Nix to him and his talent.

    KD/CC - Cam/Braun/‘Ninja’/FRO

If it was top 10 protected from the Griz it would probably never convey. The time to trade for Ja was before this draft. That ship has sailed unless the pick is unprotected.

The greatest, as in MOST ENTERTAINING, multi-team deal that actually might have more than a zero chance of eventuating:

Kawai/Kyrie/Kevin the 3Ks joining forces in…Brook Land. That’s the melting pot of NBA summers to hot up July!

Let’s get in on Charlotte’s blowing up their roster after almost making the playoffs ever.
    KD to Charlotte’s trade exception
    Charlotte’s 28 frp (top 3), 30 frp (top 3) protected

Offense would be way better, but the defense would be bottom half of the league IMO. Would be a lot more fun to watch that team play though (provided Murray and Herro stay healthy, which is not a given).

    * Trade DFS with 3-4 SRPs for B.Portis
    * Use the TPE on Q.Grimes instead of Smart
    * Vet.Min. signings: Jock Landale, Kyle Anderson
    * Re-Sign Tari/Holiday/Okogie/Tate

    Sengun, Adams, Landale
    Durant, B.Portis, K.Anderson
    Kawhi, T.Eason, J.Tate
    Amen, Q.Grimes, Okogie
    T.Jerome, Shepperd, Holiday, Thornton

this team will be legitimate contender for the next 2-3 years. and then when KD/Kawhi retired use the cap space and the 27'Nets pick and 29'Pho/Dal. pick to build around the young talents (Alpy/Amen/Tari/Grimes/Shepperd)

We should be doing some under the radar moves like Alex Sarr and Isaiah Collier.

    FVV and Capela to Toronto.

    Immanuel Quickley to Houston.

IQ and Smart, would really improve the intelligence level and reduces being stupid.

Raptors getting the gang back together. Quickley is a bit overpaid so they take on Capela.

    IQ/Smart
    Amen Thompson / Reed
    KD / DFS
    Jabari / Tari
    Sengun/ Adams

Love Siakim, but don’t know why Indy would trade him. In fact, i don’t know why they would trade anyone now that they have Haliburton back.

    FVV and capela for Kyrie
    Harden back on vet min
Smart for 6/7 mil a year
Keep DFS he's healthy now .

Tari is restricted so depends on the market for him.

    Kyrie/reed
    Amen /harden
    Jabari/ smart
    KD/ DFS
    Sengun/ adams

And you have potentially tari coming back for depth along with Thornton . Bring back tate . Pretty good squad

Of all the over the hill star targets the rockets could trade for, I honestly feel like Kyrie is the best target. To be clear, I prefer a soft reset, but if the FO is intent on chasing old stars, let it be the ball-handling, spacing savant. It fills a huge need. I do not want to give up significant future assets for any old star, and I’m skeptical Kyrie is even available, but at the right price I wouldn’t hate it. Again, I’d prefer to keep adding assets and building the foundation. But if we are locked into KD we need to upgrade the team. I do think it would be a sad commentary on the rebuild, but that’s where we are.

I would check on Dejounte Murray personally... but I think a healthy Kyrie is a difference maker
