Vassel cant handle the ball or run the offense I doubt he would make a difference.

Only because KD wouldn’t give it to him. Vassel had one bad game in the finals. 3pt % in the final 4 games: 42,75,62.5,40. Reed can’t handle the ball either or run the offense. His 3pt% in playoffs was 29%. Vassel is also a decent defender so would have been able to stay on the court and help with the incomparable, Marcus Smart.

Well, he will be in Houston. FVV is done. He blew out his knee and they are not 100% sure he can start the season.

Rockets need to unload their older players and Sengun.

Evidenced by Reed busting his ass in practice even before the injury...

Do you think the Rockets are the best drafting team in the league? Or are there any teams you think that do better? Because every team has drafted their fair share of disappointments, even in the mid to late lottery. Being a good drafting team does not require perfection.

In the past 30 years the Spurs have drafted three HOFs, not counting Duncan and Wemby. I don't give them credit for drafting consensus #1s. During that span they've drafted as many all-stars in the second round alone as we have altogether. They drafted Kawhi outside of the lotto literally one pick after we spent our lotto pick on Marcus Morris, which drove the fanbase nuts. Even the players they drafted and never signed (Scola and Dragic) ended up on our team and were some of our best players of that era. Their cast offs were better than many of our top picks.

I think they clearly draft better than us and are probably top 3 in scouting draft prospects in the league. Only OKC and GS are better and they've had their share of busts as well.

I’d add that the Heat have done a really great job scouting and developing talent given all the UDFA and middle/late round picks they’ve had over this decade. They basically turned most of their mid-round picks over the last 5 yrs into Giannis. Memphis is also another team I’ve been very impressed with their scouting over the yrs. Cedric Coward just last yr was an excellent pick. Jalen Wells the yr before. They don’t miss much.

My BIL is a HUGE Buckeye fan. I asked him how he’ll do. It wasn’t a glowing review. After 4 years in college he said he doubts he’s NBA material.

Well thats funny cuz Thornton is the Buckeyes leading scorer ever and also 2x Big ten. If he is a huge buckeye fan your BIL must be a doomer like people here who thinks 50 win seasons are mediocre.

He's probably right. Thornton lacks NBA athleticism and his style of play worked in college but won't work in the NBA.
