    I don't understand the Suns.

Let's scrounge every bit of future value to create additional assets to trade so we can trade every bit of value to chase a play-in birth.

Creative trades shows some skill in FO, but they are done in ways that will hamstring the Suns long term.

They have three FRPs that are the worst of three teams picks.

I’m not sure what Hornets are doing… but at least they’re doing something while Rockets are sleeping

The Hornets 2029 pick is worst of Char/Min/Utah/Cle, and the Suns 2033 pick is UNP so this is a great trade for them

Hornets got rid of their bad apples, love this. Two words: culture reset!

The changing of the lottery odds muddies up the value judgments of all of these new trades. Because you can't guarantee a pick will be good anymore, doing what the Rockets did and betting on the failure of franchises in the future is less of a sure thing. But quantity still counts, and getting those picks unprotected matters for sure. You just want as many bites of the apple as you can get for possibly getting a top 3 draft pick in any given year. Everything else I'd say is less valuable.

Phoenix is just determined to make themselves mediocre for as long as possible, because they didn't have control of their draft picks for the next 6yrs. Now it's 7 lol. Cutting off their nose to spite their face.

This is an easy deal for the Hornets. Get the better player. Get the better pick. Add some salary in a year they were going to have a hard time meeting the floor.

Between the 2 deals, they still have about $30M less on the books.

The gamble that PHX was going to turn into a lottery team and NJ had a quicker path back to relevancy does not, in retrospect, seem like a good one by Stonetitta.

But hey maybe we can still get a vastly overpaid Devin Booker out of it...?

I'd say it was hard to get a good pick before as a team could always tank to get under protection or do things like this trade when no protection. With flattened odds, I think it is going to stymie pick trading as will be harder to game the system post trade.

Some team, hopefully the Rockets, is going to get a couple of high picks from trades.

That 27 Suns pick losing value everyday...if healthy, they might finish with a better record than us next season...smh

Too bad we don’t have that 2026 lottery pick.

Huh? The Suns already were in the lottery with one of the picks, and likely will be in it again with at least one of the 2 other picks, in retrospect. On the Nets, it was always assumed they would not try to win when they made that move. In retrospect, we can't use retrospect as retrospect does not include looking at alternate realities in which the Nets weren't intentionally losing. Though, we can reasonably assume that at least 6 teams would have lost more while trying to lose. Probably at least 8, IMO.

Now Sam - you can’t judge Stone for at least another 6-7 years on that pick swap. You got to give him time. Be patient and understanding. There is a plan.

In your mind, sure. To me, I'd take my chances with 3 picks over the likely 10th pick in 2026.

PHX is, at best, locked into mediocrity.
    But, more likely...worse.
They have no margin of error....
I'm sure Willams isn't going to be able to stay on the court.

I wouldn't have given up Allen AND the pick in a deal for Bridges either.

The Suns are gonna crash hard.....eventually.
