There's been only three HDT penalties called since the rule was adopted. That's every NFL game for two years. That's mind-blowing.
Why even make it illegal? That's ludicrous. eta: it was the Bears. Bengals are still assholes. eta2: that was early in the season, I swear there was one later but I'm obviously misremembering. I'm also watching WC soccer, CWS baseball, and the Astros. I'm a bit distracted.
[Schefter] Just in: NFL is declining to hold a supplemental draft this summer, currently leaving the 2027 Draft as the only way for QB Brendan Sorsby to enter the NFL.
I get your drift (and your dry humor) but I think he is better than that. I think he would have done better in the NE game. I might have done better in that game!
What is this? We’re supposed to be getting better. I didn’t need to see this. I guess the experts weren’t impressed with our “upgrades.”
I've noticed experts are better at rejections than projections. And that applies across the board to all "experts."
Texans OC: QB C.J. Stroud has taken a leap this offseason and is exuding “a different comfort level” than he has previously.
Wow, worst line in the league. We'll see. This should be blown up and stuck on board in the OL room. That is some chip on those shoulders.
World Cup grass at NRG/Reliant still looks great 5 weeks in… also haven’t heard much complaints about playing surface issues at any of the stadiums (whereas the NFL constantly has potential new field issues, especially with Super Bowls, or some sites that use field turf.. like MetLife). Are they just better at it for soccer? Do the fields see less wear/tear for soccer matches vs. NFL games? Will any current World Cup site consider this technology for use at their stadiums? Or does the fact that these venues host other events make grass fields a no go?
You need to look at it and talk about it. Everything you just said is completely full of ****. Sorry.
Go give your balls a tug and try to keep up with the rest of the party. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/49030490/fifa-world-cup-grass-nfl-stadiums-debate-field-surface
Seems mostly financial though… if teams/stadiums want to make the investment, it is possible. They also already went through this with the cookie cutter stadiums that converted to astroturf back in the day for “ease”. At the very least, there is a system that exists that seems better/more consistent than the old tray system they used to have. The Giants/Jets players seem pretty dug in and that surface has gotten almost universal ridicule for its impacts. Jets now looking to find their own shop in Long Island.
