this isn’t answering the question tho Why is Ime Stone’s boss? Why is Stone a cuck to Ime, someone who had only coached for one year prior to being hired here and has never won anything?
How could we have had Joe. We did not have cap space to absorb his contract. It was a salary dump by OKC.
JVG treated us to the Rod Strickland, Mark Jackson, Charles Oakley, Rick Brunson, Clarence Weatherspoon, Charlie Ward, and Marcus Camby retirement tour!
No brainer move, that gives a lot of optionality at a reasonable cost. Helps the defensive pressure and offensive comfort with the ball. Can handle, good defensive communicator. Would be one of our best on LeBron, Randle, Zion types. Can guard at POA and get Amen closer to the basket to rebound and push. Can help cover Reed defensively. Can play the top on a 2-3 zone. Can replace Fred on Ime’s boxing dates.
I don’t know. Office politics is a strange animal. I just think the optics would indicate that Ime has a very strong influence on Stone. It looks like to me that the entire FO lacks direction.Could be that Tito is disengaged and Patrick is way in over his head. Sometimes the strongest personality wins out in an organization with rudderless leadership.
I agree he is better than what we have, but there has got to be better choices out there to address our issues and Marcus pretty much is a marginal improvement at best either over FVV or Reed as a starter or backup. That improvement is also only if he can stay on the court, which hasn’t been the case over the last 3 years.
I think most of the Ime hatred comes from a certain segment of the fanbase that think he's got something against Reed Sheppard. Anyways, the fact that Reed was drafted at #3 over Castle proves that Stone is the one in control of the roster. The comparison of Ime to O'Brien is dumb. O'Brien was arrogantly incompetent and paved the way for the scandalous Jack Easterby era. I think Ime has competence as a coach and the best acquisitions by way of trades/free-agent signings Stone made were FVV and Brooks (players who Ime vouched for).
Settle down, Clutchfans. This Smart rumor only makes sense if it was floated by Smart’s agent to squeeze more $ out of the Lakers. I can’t believe you guys are throwing fits and screaming Ime this and Stone that.
You're blind if you think the only reason people doubt Ime is just because of Reed. Him and Stone are not taking this team past the first round.
It’s all gambles at the price point we’re talking about. The big move needs to happen via trade with the way our cap sheet is structured, it’s not a secret. If this went through the most likely outcome would be everyone that complains about it will be wanting him in the game in 6 months.
Reed Sheppard's minutes and usage this year was the main criticism about Ime. People feel that if he was declared the starter earlier in the season rather than relying on Amen and KD to supplement the PG position, he would've had a much better playoff performance. I thought this criticism was unfair because it's obvious that Reed's not a top-tier player that was worthy of the #3 pick. Regarding Ime, if you fire Ime...I think the Spurs would fire Mitch Johnson and hire Ime. It would be easy for Ime to get another head coaching job (a la Bickerstaff (Cleveland to Detroit) or Mike Brown (Sacramento to NYC). Stone, on the other hand, wouldn't be able to find another GM role. Fire Stone, keep Ime is the smart play.
People blaming Ime for everything. But, Tilman and son own the club and make the decisions on who to hire and fire and I’m sure they sign off on everything. You can be unhappy with Ime if you want. But I’m looking at Mr. “Shut up and listen.”
