You can't tell me Trump is fit for duty. He is dozing off like that all the time now in meetings and press conferences. It's beyond ridiculous, and unprofessional. He seems older than 80, that's for sure. I call BS to his great health report. He's had that big lump now below his right eye for quite awhile too.
In all fairness, people that age often have their good days and bad days. We saw the same thing with Biden. One moment he couldn't tell you which way was up, the next he was quite sharp. What concerns me about Trump is that he's been a narcissist and psychopath for decades (if not longer). And there's no one, save a handful of Democrats, that have the balls to stand up to that sad sack. When that man really declines (and he will, if his poor physical health doesn't catch up with him first)... look out!
Listening to the "let grandma die for the economy" prick ramble on about religion would put me to sleep too...like a new born being sung a lullaby.
That's why you shouldn't elect 79 year olds as President. The age limit should be 68 or 70 if you ask me. To be fair, Biden was active and cycling a lot his first couple years, and Trump couldn't have done that on day one. He also gave some great speeches that didn't sound like some drunk rambling a bunch of crazy nonsense on a street corner like Trump does half the time. Also, you never saw Biden nodding off like that over and over and over and over in press conferences, ceremonies and meetings. I agree he took a turn towards the end, and looked unfit to serve his last few months. That being said, I think Trump was unfit to serve day one for many reasons. First and foremost because he can't be trusted, simply because he's a pathological liar. Trump has all the signs of a psychopath, and combining that with criminal behavior, coverups, malicious intent to deceive others, and malignant narcissism is a recipe for danger Also, he has the genes for Alzheimer's, and the way he's acted the past year I wouldn't doubt he's already in the early stages. It's in his genes.
People rag on my home state of Texas for being anti-progressive, but damn: Show me another state that elects a retired cafeteria lady who wears mens suits as their Lt. Governor? That's the kind of open-hearted, "you-do-you" Texas culture I've always been proud of.
Which part? Did I defame cafeteria ladies? (He does look just like the woman who assembled my school lunches back in the last century in League City, TX.)
You'll get no argument from me. Except on the age restriction. I know some guys in their late eighties that aren't showing the slightest signs of mental decline (at least outward). Those people aren't the norm, I know, but they're out there.
Oh, I agree there are folks in their 80's who are mentally sound, but I'm factoring the aging past starting their term, and the demands of the job. Cardiovascular, neurological, and cognitive issues begin to accelerate significantly after age 65, and stress on top of that doesn't help. I think those age limits are high enough, factoring in allowing for allowing them to run two consecutive terms, which would max out them out at 78. There's a reason pilots can't fly after 65 and air traffic controllers have to retire at 56. I'd say 70 is a fair age to limit cutoff starting the job of President.
