Banking on FVV, Adams, and KD having miracle zero injury seasons. If they get injured they can always blame the players for a disappointing season. "It would've been different if we were healthy."
I'm actually surprised that KD hasn't asked out... he's known for awhile that Fred likely wouldn't come back strong, so we'd have little to no chance at competing with OKC/SA. I'd assume that he would want to go somewhere to have a legitimate chance at a title.
He acts like he doesn't care what anybody thinks but he absolutely does. He knows how he'd be viewed if he changed teams again this soon. I think he's also given up on winning another ring at this point and is just chasing scoring records and big contracts.
I'm hoping we can attach a couple of picks with his expiring for a young (ish) stud. For the RIGHT target, not forcing things if it's not there. Worst case, we let him expire. But, we need to work it hard. It would be typical Stone to not do anything.
His no trade clause was only for last season and specifically to protect his bird rights. July 6th is the start of the new league year and he will have full bird rights and the NTC is gone. Yep, he picks up the option the NTC is gone. Had he given it up last year, he would have lost his bird rights.
In terms of the numbers per production they are negative for sure. BUT.... To be fair on Capela and DFS (expiring after 2 years), those contracts were signed to be matching salary ballast. So you need enough salary. And you can tell this is the case because they kept Capela's salary on the books and did not offload and took the LT hit. They are inflated for a specific reason. Let's see what they do with them. In the past they did the same thing with Dillon, Jeff Green and Landale.
Well now that we know this, he can pick up his shouldn’t. He can serve as a bench guard and we can trade him in February.
