he’s better than Sheppard and Holliday. Plays great defense. Rebounds. Brings a tough edge and mentality. Good ball handler. Vet with plenty playoff experience. Great move if we get him.

 

Great, another shaky shooter.

I like Smart but the stubbornness with which the front office is ignoring our shooting problems is stunning.

 

why?

 

He’s a backup point. They likely want him as an extra ball handler and to run the second unit but also to guard guys like Dylan Harper in the Spurs second unit. He’s switchable and can play against bigger guards.

 

Its ****ing Jeff Van Gundy bringing in Weatherspoon, or Rick Brunson, or any number of over the hill players...waste of ****ing time.

We should be going after players like Tim Hardaway Jr, instead the Rockets will get kicked out the first round again because they can’t put the ball in the basket, then Ime will cry about how he needs players with different skill sets when this is exactly the roster he keeps building. He loves the Jasean Tate's, DFS, Marcus Smart and wonder why the Rockets can’t score 40 points in a half.

 

The ONLY reason to get Smart is to prevent him shutting down Alpy in the post....

 

I’d rather have a 38-40% 3-pt shooter that plays with 60% of the effort and tenacity as Marcus Smart than the actual Marcus Smart.

But also, whatever. If it’s the vet minimum you can’t really complain.

 

Going back to the coach’s old pool almost never worked out.

 

Btw, Isaiah Joe is better and Stone could have had him for cheap.

One of my all time least favorite players, and any contract he gets will be bad (naybe the min is ok), but if he could teach Reed how to flop it might be worth giving him a max.
