    Now I guess, Dort is high on the pecking order, higher than I thought.

    They would have traded 2 of their 2026 picks away to kick the can down the road if they really wanted to keep him.

    You know, I have to believe that Oklahoma City did not want to trade with the Rockets. This guy would have been phenomenal on our team offensively and defensively.

    They traded him for no returning salary, we would have had to send out salary to match. Salary dump for OKC

    We can't pretend like every deal that happens could've happened to us instead. We could've never made this trade simply because it was a salary dump and we don't have space. It's that simple.

    They're gonna need to do these salary dumps like every year and their young guys rollover their rookie scale contracts.

    Next season (27-28) Shai gets a $20MM pay bump and Cason Wallace's extension kicks in. Then you have Ajay and McCain. I wouldn't be surprised if Dort is gone after this year or is offered a subpar contract.

    Most fans that studied the implications of the 2nd Apron would say otherwise...

    At least they are not falling apart like the Celtics at once but yeah gradually.
