Would much rather have Quickley if we’re talking about far-fetched hypotheticals.

I'll take anything we can build around! PERIOD! I Want Brown, I want Durant and I want Morant. Talent wins championships. It's an arms race in this league. It always has been. This didn't start with the GS Warriors. It has always been whoever has the best and most talent wins.

Yes. If you're able to acquire him and just give up FVV and DFS and who knows they might send us additional assets in the deal to get rid of Ja then I think we take that gamble.

We can do this deal without giving up any of our young core and future assets which we can use down the line - trade deadline - next off-season.

LOL! The second i wrote toxicity - i KNEW somebody would equate that to KD. Hey maybe putting them side by side would push both to be more mindful... but im thinking we would have a Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton situation... lol

Ty Lawson also re-worked his contract with the trade...
"He agreed to make the final year of his deal (the 2016-17 season) entirely non-guaranteed, a move that put over $13 million on the line but gave Houston the financial flexibility to waive him with no salary cap penalty."
If Ja wanted to 'bet on himself'... i would strongly consider making a move for him... and i'd be willing to gamble more in terms of assets...

Memphis would be foolish to give up an all NBA talent and pick for Reed

Maybe, but a $42 million gamble on the chance that a thug turns into a saint is a steep price tag. Gonna need an exorcist and a couple rounds of counseling from Jesus himself to get a transformation at this point.

Giving up assets for Ja would be a mistake.

He was never really that good to begin with, and is very obviously regressing with the same baggage and durability issues.

This is a true statement but does not apply because Memphis doesn't have an "all-NBA talent" on their roster.

Sorry, "Buy Low" is not the option for us. Our owner only like to buy high and sell low.

I hear ya... and i'm not a fan of giving up assets as his contract is presently structured... but its all investment vs potential return... if i could mitigate the possible downside to see how he's do next to KD... id be willing to take more of a swing... plus thats also assuming i could ditch a couple contracts like DFS and CC...

More like the Rockets would be foolish to give up Reed for Ja.

If we trade for Morant it should be FVV opt in and DFS and maybe a very protected 1st at most. Maybe like a 2031 first or as far out as possible.

What young core are we keeping? Sengun? Dude has had 2 playoffs to show up and he doesn't. He got spanked by Ayton! We got destroyed by a Luka Less lakers! We got slapped around by a butlerless warriors! We have one star on this team and he happens to be 37 years old. Amen might end up a defensive anchor one day but we still need to figure out how to put the ball in the hole. Everyone is an asset right now whether we want to believe it or not. The lakers got Lebron and traded Randal, russell, ingram and everything for a title. There is no young core on a team of mediocre picks just young assets.

Maybe what the front office is talking about when they keep going on with all these lofty comparisons to elite point guards

But you still gotta show it on the real court, not just the practice court

Hope he'll do that next season
