We probably did reach out but the asking price is too much. Stone is probably going to wait until it comes down or live with somebody overpaying. I could see Detroit going for Brown or Kwahi.

I think it’s going to happen. I have a feeling either we lose Amen or Durant. The move doesn’t make us overall better per se but could solidify a star to build around. Don’t like the move personally but seems a good fit with Udoka due to their relationship.

I also think his athleticism is just kinda cooked due to all his injuries. John Wall/Derrick Rose with guns. You don't trade for a guy like this when he doesn't have his defining advantage anymore, and probably never will again. Especially when it's a guy who has shown absolutely zero signs of being willing or able to reinvent himself the way Rose kinda-sorta did. I think Morant will be out of the NBA within five years.

*There is a price where I'd take his contract, of course (and promptly buy him out because the fit sucks ass). Can we have Cam Boozer? Pretty please?

It's just that. I think some of us are done with the youth movement. I would trade any of our young guys for Isaiah Joe if he is really being shopped.
If we resign Tari, we will deeply regret it. Thats the thing some of its coaching, but a lot of our picks that we brought in after tanking, have these glaring flaws that have not been corrected or at least improved on. Tari is basically the same player from when he first came in the league. Maybe a little more improved shooting, but he still can't dribble drive, can't really pass, and has low iq. Same can be said of all the young guys.
I think that if Ime is going to be here, he will never tank. He will always try to make the playoffs, because it gives him some saving grace. I do want him, or an offensive guru as his assistant.

The Rockets know why. And aren't interested.

Media keeps attached Brown to the Rockets because of Ime but that is all it is. Media guessing.

Sengun and Reed and Brooklyn first is fair for Jaylen Brown.

its not. 23yr old Sengun on a $38 mil contract or 29yr old JB on a $60 mil contract? If we aren’t contending there is no reason to trade for JB unless we are converting KD into JB. I can’t trade Sengun and keep 38yr old KD. That’s just wrong.

We will be contending with JB and KD and Steady Freddy coming back. We still have Amen and Tari and Jabari. Double center in Adams and Capela. Pickup Mitch Robinson or Hartenstein for insurance and we are ready for a rock fight with SAS or OKC. Sengun is a proven playoff no show, I don't need another 5 years of mediocrity to confirm his lack of ability to score when it gets physical in the box. Of course if you can convince Boston to take 38 year old KD for JB then more power to you.

It’s a pretty known thing that with FVV being the president of the player’s association that he has some power and Stone has mentioned trying to improve on the Rocket’s reputation among the players.
So from a political point of view, it makes sense why they most likely won’t ever trade Fred. If Fred feels like they did him wrong, he could influence a lot of players to not want to come here.

But somebody did mention they traded Chris Paul when he was the President of the Player’s Association and ironically I think that did impact the Rockets reputation, hence Stone point about trying to fix & improve the reputation

Tim MacMahon: “It’s been speculated. I did call to check on that. The messaging was there’s no intent to get in on the bidding for Jaylen Brown at this point. The Rockets aren’t looking at this as an opportunity they’re trying to pounce on.”

Everyone that wants JB should want RJ Barrett for 1/3 of the price. He’s better than his PR, going to be nice on his next contract.

Rockets are waiting for Shai or Jokic to be on the market

I just disagree that JB and KD, along with whomever is left over from that trade is a contending team. KD isn’t gonna have another full healthy season like last yr. Fred isn’t gonna look great coming off surgery. We still need to keep building our foundation.

If we trade for Brown I see us sending both 27’ picks only to regret it when they turn into 2 top 10-15 picks making Boston better short / long term

I also see Brown dipping as soon as KD retires so any players / picks we send for him would be a complete waste of time for a 2nd round exit if we lucky

Charania: The Boston Celtics are, in some cases, asking for *at least* four 1st round picks (Giannis went for 3).

It might be fair, but the Celtics might refuse to take this offer. Send KD and two firsts plus Thornton for Brown, if the Cavs refuse to trade E. Mobley.

What picks would you allow to go for Brown?

I am just not giving up two first or even one pick in the 27 draft, I find those are more valuable, i will give up sengun and reed and find a 3rd team to add in more players or picks.

I trade Durant for him and 3 first.
