Ahhhh, please elaborate, it’s been such a long journey that I’ve seemed to have misplaced that, please tell me it’s une bonne odeur……
We are currently the 3rd WC team. Crazy that we would be in the playoffs if the season ended right now.
They wouldn’t fully be in control because they’re a game behind in the loss column to all the other teams also in third. Still amazing and the playoffs are much more realistic than two weeks ago. Also amazing how trash the AL is right now. Only 4 teams above .500.
Add and go. Imai is beginning to come around. Sad that the OF is what it is. But right now I would say have the second best rotation behind the NYY in MLB. Lambert was a great find. With that said there's no reason the OF should have 3 Mendozas's batting in it.
FOUR West teams currently postseason bound. Doesn't seem right, but neither does the Astros health the past 3 seasons. If decent fortune going forward....... Astros are going to the World Series. .
Fantastic start from Imai and great def.plays. Streaking!!! Mariners just sh*tting their pants again . Also great to see Espada did't put Walker straight back behind Yordan. Atleast with Paredes you are kinda expecting somekinda AB and contact. Only thing I have mixed feelings about is activating Abreu. I was hoping after the restricted list thing there would have been some resolution. Lot of guys here believe in Abreu mainly of the great years of past and what team is telling us. For me the reason I want to end this saga is that Abreu has always been like 60/40 good/clueless throw the dice but wiggles out of it with stuff. Now if he goes like 4 times pretty ok in non pressure sits. when you see him back in leverage you can see the odds are like 20/80 right away and start praying oppo does't realise it too and get themselves out. If he would be new to team everybody would be like yeah lot of guys can throw hard and spin the ball but it takes much more in bigs. Keeping him on roster still taxing everybody feels crazy to me. Even Joe knows this game lot of guys down if he could use Abreu he would have used him. So still waiting soft spots for him blowout either way games. Luckily defense bailed out Santos. Guys love Abreu. Guys loved Neris too, they just finally accepted he could't hack it anymore. Im starting to believe we can win division. Previously did't but just the complete sucking of Mariners suprised me. Spagetti v Montero is pretty much BP for both teams. If we keep Greene silent and force Montero to zone with mid AF stuff this game is ours too. Supersmall sample but holy moly. Riley Greene v Arrighetti 5AB / 3HR / 3.000 OPS
Hell of a win, Imei`s slider is wicked. I am not stoked about this outfield BUT if we can just have one of them shine nightly, we might have something until we fix this. Trammel, Joey and Cam each had big games the past few games, we don't need them all to shine all the time but if just one can do it nightly I would be happy. This team is turning the corner and more pitching is on the way up.......................I hate to say it, but I am getting excited
I’m not fully bought in on the pitching yet, but yeah the potential is there when it clicks. I’m closer on Imai because of the track record (albeit not in MLB). Burrows has shown flashes, but never been consistent and Arrighetti has always been streaky. I’m not expecting anything from McCullers or Javier at this point. Blanco could be a big addition. More healthy arms and Hader look to have stabilized the bullpen and at least allows more rest. Plenty of reasons for optimism, but even for the month of June, Astros starters have a collective ERA over 5 which is 23rd in the league.
Fortunately, the starters have either completely sucked and we didn't have a chance to win or they've been great so we won. I wouldn't expect much from Blanco either TBH but hopefully him or Javier proves me wrong.
