Would you accept Ja Morant + a first-round pick for Reed Sheppard + salary filler to match contracts?
Apparently he is such a negative asset. I wouldnt mind, but if we do this we will need to add alot of shooting.
would be less than that in my opinion. FVV + DFS + Capela his value is that low. Reed + salary is more of a Zion trade.
I have to admit, id love to see if Morant could get back to his old self but I think Udoka would choke him out if we brought him over and he would never touch the court.
I wouldn’t give up any asset for Morant. The Grizzlies would gladly dump him for anything they could get at this point.
Which teams need a starting caliber PG? I won’t count teams that drafted a PG in the lottery range last night as you don’t want to have Morant as a mentor. I think those are the teams that would take a chance on Morant and we could be one of those teams.
"Live Round — Houston Loaded" Ja pulls up, cocked back, hammer primed — defenders frozen, every time. The court's a range and he's the shooter, no safety on, no one's acuter. Cross left, pull right, the trigger breaks — the net explodes, the whole arena shakes. Point blank from three, dead-eye release, a clean discharge — defenders deceased. Houston called, said "we need a gun," loaded the chamber, handed him one. Traded the blues of Memphis grey for Houston red — a brand new day. The Rockets cocked back, aimed at the league, Ja Morant — their trigger, their creed. Toyota Center now the range, H-Town dangerous, everything changed. Elevates like the recoil sent him flying — defenders left on the floor, barely trying. He doesn't miss — he just picks his shot, reads the defense, finds the open slot. Squeeze. Release. Nothing but cord. Ja Morant — the most dangerous on the board. They try to guard him, they try to contain, but you can't stop a bullet once it's out the chamber, man. Smoke clears slow, the crowd on their feet — Ja holsters up and walks back down Houston Street. The Rockets are loaded. The league better run. H-Town just chambered their most dangerous gun.
If that is all it took to get Ja then Memphis knows more than anyone that his career is toast. Putting faith in a bad attitude player who self destructs is not the best way to move forward (no matter if he was free)
