If u think that u can get something for him and can bring in a mid-level or better pg - cool...

Ow i'd let him play out his last year... I wouldnt want to tack on any additional years until we see how he comes back... and it would prob provide a good incentive for him to do well...

Who else do you hold bird rights on that you can do that with?

    The answer is nobody.

U cant extend Fred when he hasn’t given us a good season since 2023 and is now coming off ACL surgery in his 30’s. Attach a 2nd to him and send him to a team in need of a culture. Hell send him back to TO. We should be able to move Fred on an expiring deal.

One person’s high level is another’s mediocre level. Besides giving Ime the opportunity to put the development of Amen and Reed on hold. Sorry, I misread your original post and wrote something snippy. Hope you didn’t see it. Unfortunately the Rockets are working on an extension right now. Probably just trying to work out Amen first. Why wouldn’t they since they already extended their sh*t coach, Adams, FVV the last time and Jalen before they needed to. This FO is beyond saving from their own ignorance.

    No restructure.

Trade Bari Reed and a future pick for Acuff (huge payroll relief)

    Re-sign tari.

@Clutch maybe I misheard you on your post draft stream last night but I believe you alluded to Fred accepting the PO correct?

Fred accepting the player option would be very interesting. I feel like it would indicate a strong possibility (but not a guarantee) that he gets traded.

It better mean that. Because him picking up his option means that we don’t have the ability to use the MLE without going into the second apron. So the only way to improve the team would be through a trade. And his position is the one most in need of an upgrade.

Sounds like he opting into the PO. I think that makes more sense for the Rockets than extending Fred. Hey I hope he plays well and makes himself more money as a free agent next offseason. Good luck to him. After all, we got Bruce Thornton and Reed Shepherd ;)

They should ask him where he can go to waive his no trade clause. Work off of that

He doesn't have an NTC anymore. That was just during the season, every UFA gets it after signing a new deal due to the CBA rules.

So, I was thinking -- we know Trey Murphy is on the market, and FVV is a perfect match for his salary if he picks up his player option. How many picks would it take to get it done, I wonder? How much can we sell New Orleans that FVV is still a starting caliber player, in other words? :p

    I am torn.

I want FVV to play well. If he does play well, it just means more whining about the Rockets playing FVV and winning games for years to come.
