I would tell posters to save their anger but some of them are just perpetually hating everything the Rockets do.

I also think the Rockets need to do more than just run it back, but there's a decent chance we run it back with some tweaks that addresses the issues.

The problem is you can’t run it back to fix issues when FVV, KD, Adams, DFS and Ime are the issues.

But you said first round. So you think they want to make as many playoff rounds as possible?

I don't think they give a **** if they advance or not. I think they are just content being there.

    If we're keeping KD, I would;

Trade FVV and DFS for Ja Morant and a future 1st.

Have KD reach out to LeBron and sign and trade Tari for LeBron. :D

    Ja
    Amen
    KD
    LeBron
    Alpi

Jabari (heavy minutes to cover for LeBron and KD during the regular season)
    Reed
    Adams

    Sign shooters and stretch 5.

We still get to keep all our future assets.

If Alpi still can't get his head out of his ass by the trade deadline, have LeBron give him the death stare and trade him to upgrade the roster. :D

    Thanks for being honest.

But also that's a pretty irrational thing to claim about a business.

I could make the case it's pretty irrational trading for a 38 year old KD with not much time left and then doing nothing at the trade deadline when your team is fighting for a top 2 seed and your 38 year old star is playing some of the most minutes in the league while having a great season and your team desperately needs a PG. Then to make matters worse the GM states "It's just not our year" that is an irrational thing to say to your fans while the team has a shot at a top seed.

    Haha...well...

There's some chance that Zion or Ja get traded. Definitely players with 'star' talent but one is literally hurt every single year and never in shape while the other is a knucklehead.

I personally wouldn't want to take risks on either BUT...

Ja has two years left on his deal, if you want to make a big move and can get him for cheap then now is the time to do so.
Same for Zion I guess, also two years left. So considering you don't give up much, like this Naz deal, a team could talk themselves into making it.

People will say NO NO NO because of their red flags but that's the only reason they'd be out there is because of those red flags.

Both are negative assets. You only receive assets not give them away. I definitely would send our trash for either with appropriate draft picks or good players attached. I got it KD, FVV for Zion, Trey Murphy III. Just kidding, NOP would never do it. Ja Morant and Memphis 27 or 28 pick for KD.

I've given up talking to that dude on this subject. You can tell the people who are just gonna defend something however they can and pretend you dont have a good point even when you're right. It doesn't matter how much proof or what great points you bring up hes not gonna reply with anything substantive he's just gonna call you a hater because its what blind fan boy homers do.

....but we aren't an AYO, Coby White, or Luke Kennard away from anything meaningful right now. You get one of those guys and what? You beat a heavily injured Laker team and get bounced in 4 in the next round and lose in the first round to every healthy team after that while KD gets older and Sengun gets less efficient? We need legit ceiling raisers - those guys are chess pieces for sure, but they all cost real assets and while I also think Stone is far too risk averse for what the org needs today, I dont agree that we need to chase EVERY deal out there and deplete our assets.

You only chase the AYO and Coby Whites of the world if you have a clear gap needed to make your stars better and while we have a clear hole at the PG, we really don't know who is leading this team a year or two from now so you don't need to make 3/4 year commitments to guys like AYO or Coby White because you don't know if the franchise player you end up with is going to play the same position or if we will be prevented from trading for that player because we are a first or second round pick short of completing a deal because we sent it off in a Luke Kennard trade - like wtf? For instance, LaMelo needs rim defenders to mitigate his biggest weaknesses and creates the most offensive value by having rim runners around him, Giannis needs to be surrounded by shooters to maximize his talents, etc. Start with the star, and fill in to maximize them.

I think you guys dont realize that the ways or direction the rockets would or should have gone in would be done already. We dont have all off-season. The Rockets said they are willing to part with kd or sengun. So let's leave it up to the league to decide what direction we're going in that's smart lol

Wrong! They are NOT developing young players - not with Udoka as the head coach. Actions? Their actions show that they are simply threading water hoping for someone to come along and throw them a life preserver. Even with some miraculous spurt of internal growth, this team, as currently constructed and coached, is miles behind OKC & SA and you can expect that gap to grow wider and wider as the years pass them by.

I guess we are handing FVV a 3 year $63M deal and we will be hearing about it shortly?
