Im with you on the injury concerns. Outside of that Lamelo is a solid borderline Allstar PG that would give this team alot more juice.
This is work out just like Harden pushing for Russ trade. Melo will probably have a season ending injury before the playoffs and Ant will request a trade by New years.
It’s a gamble, but far as gamble’s go it’s on the 2 dollar table. Pick swaps with Charlotte isn’t anything of value at all. It is basically Naz and a 2033 pick for Lamelo. I didn’t want Lamelo, but Charlotte should have been able to do better than that. They should’ve called Washington.
Feel like we could've beaten that offer. Great trade for Wolves So excited to see Fred & Amen as our backcourt....
Fred Amen Adams Sengun Rockets about to go against the grain and out 4 dudes out there that can't shoot.
Not a LM fan, glad we ducked that dude and happy Minny is adding to it's island of misfit toys roster construction. Three guys I like on that roster (Ant, Ayo and Jaden) that maybe this trade will help expedite one of their departures.
Nor does Stone. He's like Lieutenant Dyke from Band of Brothers. "What do we do sir? We're sitting ducks!" "I don't know, I don't know!"
Lamelo was not the answer for us. We don’t need a PG. We need a new offensive coach and a SG that can play defense and is ok playing off-ball. Durant is an impediment. Stone saying they were open for business the day before the draft is an incredible insult to the Rocket’s fan base. We are running it back.
51, 75, 36, 22, 47, 72. Those are how many games LaMelo has played each season and is still owed 3y/$130m.
Yikes imagine the games between Miami and Houston this season. Both teams going to score in the 80s-90s.
I don’t disagree that it’s poor value, but a move like this reeks of something we don’t know about (medical, etc). All I know is I’m glad we didn’t trade for him. He’s overrated and would clash with Ime before he suffers his annual injury.
