I wonder if they trade Brown at the expense of giving up Amen, the Rockets would be a better team. Their scoring would improve and they would be difficult to guard. They may suffer defensively and on the boards and the tough edge Amen brings. If they do that move then they need to bring in more tough nosed intense defenders that fits with this culture and fill the void

I'm actually impressed with Stone and Ime for not getting desperate. I like Jaylen Brown, not at $70M per year. Go for guys like Trey Murphy III if you have to make a trade. super max contracts need to be reserved to true top 10 players. Jokic, SGA, Ant Edwards, and Luka is probably the exhaustive list of guys that I would deem worth the supermax at this point. Obviously guys like Wemby are coming up but they will be at rookie scale for now.

Yes, desperate. Stone especially, should feel that his seat is at least warm. There is definitely some pressure to win now from ownership. Why is everything so cut and dry with you? You're a smart guy, you've lived a good life. You know that in life not much is black and white and there are a lot of grey areas, see what the front office does in the next two weeks. No need to blow up over small things. They hopefully will make a few margin trades or maybe get involved with Trey Murphy III, who I really think has a chance to be a Jaylen Brown level player. Not a ton of money to work with in FA. Using Capela and DFS contracts with draft capital could get them a good player.

if you have any signals that Ant Edwards could be available next summer, you keep KD. They are very close friends. Players recruit others to come. I'm finally okay with margin moves because the Wolves are such a coinflip now with Ball. Could be great or could fall to bits New rumor is the Wolves are trying for Jaylen Brown too, in that instance it doesn't even matter, trade KD, the Wolves aren't going to fail with Brown, Edwards and Ball.
I could actually easily see them failing with Brown, Edwards, and Ball because all three of those guys are extremely ball-dominant and look to score first and pass only reactively. That's a very talented team, but it's not a well-constructed team.
