Rockets select Bruce Thornton

We traded up to get a worse player than the one we gave to the Knicks. WTF?

 

So, people complained about Reed - and he outshot Thornton by a lot in college.

Thornton's college numbers are meaningless.

I’ve come around on the pick more. Seems like Stone wanted a potential day 1 impact player that fits on the timeline on the core guys.

 

This man grabs a lot of boards for a short man. That speaks of having a bit of dawg in him. Shades of CP3 with high basketball IQ and sheer work ethic. I'll watch and see what Stone cooks up.

 

He doesn't have as high of a ceiling as Kayil, but his floor is the perfect backup point. I'll take it. Probably gives them room to move Sheppard if they make a surprise trade too.

 

Seems like he's our new backup PG. Where is Reed going to get minutes? I like tyat he can get his own shot

 

Thornton does more than just shoot 3s, he play maked, grabbed 5 rebs a game, got to the line with 5 ftas and scored 20 ppg vs Reeds 12 ppg.

And lets be fair Reeds shooting hasnt been a bust, 39% last year and gonna get even better.

 

This guy is a scrub. I don’t see an NBA player here.

 

Its gonna be a battle for mins between Reed, Thornton, Copeland and Holiday (if he is retained). May the best man win.

Its funny people wanted backup pgs now Stone gets 2 and people are still complaining.

 

Fred will likely get traded at some point. This just gives us more depth.
