This is a fairly common dynamic at the tail end of R2, but he was on top of their board at 55 and they had intel that he was likely to go undrafted (and that he wanted to be here). So that's why it played out the way it did. Was going to be a two-way guy either way.
I liked him before the draft as a late pick. This is good, I hope he sticks somewhere for our team or Vipers.
I'll be honest. This us the guy I wanted us to take at 53 (and then 55). So I guess I have to be ok taking $$$ at 55 instead if we still got the guy
My 2c on Quadir is that he has the chance to be something of a Vince Williams. I know that might not seem ultra exciting, but hey - he was undrafted!!
Looking into it Copeland is like the opposite of Bruce Thornton. While BT is a polished pg with limited upside, Copeland like his name seems to be all cope or upside. 6'6 with 6'11 wingspan pg who averaged 6 ast and shot 40% from 3 with 3 stls 5 ftas. Lots of people thought he would be lock at the 2nd round so this is a major steal.
I'm watching some of his highlight videos and he seems like a pretty good passer and finisher. From the few videos I watched, he seems to have legit PG skills. The only question is whether or not he'll crumble under pressure in the NBA. Couple of nice passes in here : Skip would be proud (lol) :
