Decent positional size, elite creator, average decision maker, incredibly impulsive player that you just have to learn take the bad with the good. Decent shooter, great volume.. unserious is correct.. hard to justify giving up any meaningful assets for a player that might not give you 50 games a season even if he does he move the needle a bit.. would probably pass unless it's cheap
The org has (IMO reasonably) not been interested in pursuing Giannis or Jaylen Brown, or major prospects in the last two drafts. But if they’re not interested in LaMelo - who admittedly has significant injury risks, but is otherwise exactly the kind of young on ball creation centerpiece we need - then I don’t understand what we’re doing. I would bet a lot of money that no better on-ball primary creator <25yo (or offensive player in general) will change teams this decade.
I don't know if I can stomach LaMelo's injury problems, sub-55% true shooting, or traffic cone defense. He is a young guy who does a lot of things we need but he does come with some serious flaws.
