200 middle-aged dudes crying on Clutchfans is not raising hell and will bring about no changes.

Get off your high horse…. Not every fan is a die hard championship or bust. And being one doesn’t make you better… in fact it just warps your mind because franchises don’t operate on a championship or bust mindset.

Let’s be clear, you dont even know what mediocrity means….We were clearly above average these past two seasons.

OKC and Spurs aren’t some inevitable unstoppable force.

Being championship or bust… doesn’t make you better or special….

In fact it makes you super irrational and super miserable because you are chasing a long shot.

Again… our first major, true adversity and a lot of y’all have declared we are DOA.

Mediocrity is subjective. Years of being above average is mediocrity and that is where we are headed for. You’re entitled to wallow in regular season wins, but quit b****ing at those that expect more, especially after living through 4 years of absolutely the worst basketball in the NBA. I said that the 52 win second seed was fool’s gold and resulted in us extending possibly the worst bench coach in the NBA. Now we’re supposed to be satisfied with another 52 win season and first round exit. You are probably thrilled after a night out at the Texas Roadhouse.

The number one issue is Ime's offense.

Until they bring someone in to replace him it doesn't matter who you bring in, it's gonna suck. Think about it, they replaced Jalen Green with Kevin Durant and it didn't improve.

That tells you all you need to know.

I agree with you totally and I have been a fan pretty much my whole life. One of my favorite teams/seasons to watch was the artest/brooks team that took the Lakers to seven

So this isnt a championship or bust fandom and I can deal with failure. I watched every game of the Silas era… but to me the last two seasons have been the most disgusting seasons that we’ve ever had as a franchise.

In this off-season is already shaping up to be the same. Just Total incompetence… no sense of competition at any level of this franchise.

I can’t imagine an owner coach GM anyone on this team not looking at our team the last few years and doing something by the deadline to improve our team to give us a shot to have a punchers chance at a title

The CYA thing I think it’s 100% spot on

I think that’s the reason he doesn’t trade it at the deadline and I think that’s the reason he traded Brooklyn’s pics for more pics that are out further so we can keep pushing responsibility for mediocrity down the road and not having to have all his chips. be cashed one time giving yourself a little bit more time . I think Spell knows he’s out of his place here and he’s just trying to buy as much time as possible cash as many checks as possible

And sadly ownership has been the most disappointing part one they put their hands into it for something that was absolutely moronic in the Westbrook trade

And then now they do nothing and they have no driver effort to win, not pushing their management to make things happen like I have no respect for anyone in this franchise anymore

The lack of a cohesive plan - a direction that works and is tenable is a worry.

Flexibility is a plan, and maybe that is what they are doing, but right now, we are a franchise relying on OLD injury prone guys to hold up for the youngsters, which is wasting their prime too.

    We should pick a direction.

I hear the sentiment and I totally agree, but those things have to come within.... the fans have the least power, that is the sad part, granted how organizations are nothing without fans.

It starts with having an owner that is not MAGA but all about basketball, and I like them tech guys over hospitality guys.....

And with basketball I meant not surface level basketball but dive deeper into basketball synergy/deep root level of constructing a foundation for the future. I feel with Stone and Fertitta that a lot is more about superficiality, if the RS record is good, it should be fine....everything is fine.

We make couple of trades, signings in the Offseason and that should last for 1 entire year and beyond ..Mindset!

The Rockets are kind of in no-man's land right now. They have too much talent to rebuild. They don't have enough talent to compete for a title. And they spent too much money on the wrong people to be adjusting easily. The problem with this situation is that there are really only three options. One is to make a Giannis-type move where you mortgage all your future for an aging star just to come close to the level of a true contender like OKC or Spurs. And while it has worked in the past, more often these moves don't work. The second is to just keep pace and be a 1st round and exit team, which is just accepting mediocrity. And finally it's to blow it up Utah style with the Gobert/Mitchell trades, and they still haven't recovered after years of rebuild.

The meaning of words isn't subjective. The Rockets have not been mediocre this past two years.

Have the Rockets been disappointing in the context of this is where we are after 3 seasons of abysmal tanking? Of course.

I don't view OKC or the Spurs as inevitable. I also don't view a 1st round exit as inevitable.

I don't know man, it's not like Les Alexander was this incredible owner. He was also a cheap ass owner lol. He literally bought a team that was ready to win a couple of championships already and then after those guys aged, he didn't spend at all costs to keep the Rockets competitive. The glory days are back in the mid 90s. He got lucky with being able to draft Yao Ming number 1, then he went all in with the Chinese propaganda (shitty R logo) to appease them. Then he was fortunate enough to land Harden based on OKCs miscalculation of his talent and he didn't give Morey the greenlight to spend over the luxury tax (although I also believe Morey's b**** ass liked the challenge of getting under the tax, I bet somehow he got kickbacks from Les under the table).

Well at least Texans preseason starts in less than 2 months. About the only local team to get excited about.

You nailed it here. This is what we mean when we say the Rockets are mediocre. This team, as currently construction, is at or near it's peak and that's not good enough. We're on a path to be Gasol led Grizzles if this continues.

LOL. Mediocre is subjective. Median, Mean so forth are not. Just substitute unacceptable if you like. I find their apparent satisfaction with the status quo, unacceptable. It’s fine if you don’t, but you keep calling people stupid about the NBA and Whiny for not agreeing with your opinion.

This has been a concern for years. We collect teenagers and do nothing to improve them, then act like it’s their fault for not being able to play at an elite level. SAS and OKC have staffs that develops and trains players. It appears the Rockets want injured veteran players to mentor our youth. Sadly it would be cheaper and more affective to hire a staff.

All it takes is for one Michel Jordan signing to turn it all around. Luckily for us they are a dime a dozen and shouldn't take long
