2 time all star at age 23. Just because he's not a franchise level player at this point doesn't mean he's not a valuable player. Why are we doing this collectively?
He is a valuable piece of the equation. So was Harden in his time. We should explore options of trading Sengun, but not panic sell him. There’s nothing wrong with playing out what if scenarios as fans. Indianapolis sold high on Sabonis and ended up in the finals. Nobody is untouchable, even Amen for the right price. I just don’t think we have the right guys making the decisions and the aprons have made having a competent GM all that more important.
I don't think you'll need to rely on him being a 37+ minute starter because of the forced PG others got this season. I don't think any of them really excelled, but I do think they (mostly Amen and Reed) improved on that end. The beauty of FVV is that he's just a game manager with decent offensive game and decent defense. He doesn't have to be lethal. He'll hit plenty on KD swings from double teams (hopefully faster than he did this season). That's literally all we needed this season. A floor general that knew how to initiate an offense and could handle some ball pressure when presented. Vastly improving the roster through some generational draft pick or franchise player trade is so so difficult. I just don't understand why you'd pull the plug on this squad when we clearly had major deficiencies preseason that precluded us from ever getting our footing. Nonetheless we started the season strong, but then just couldn't continue the committee ball handling duties. A team needs a steady point guard. This hill I shall die on!
This is part of the problem. The Houston coaching staff has zero clue on how to shoot the basketball. Alpi needs to out there with the best shooting coaches in the world and working out with him. Not the coaches that coach one of the worst offenses in the NBA.
lol Ben Simmons making two awkward shots in a row is the same as Sengun making 5 with a far more natural shooting motion? Sengun averaged .3 from 3 last season on about 2 attempts per game. He’s really not far from being an average 3 point shooter. Ben Simmons literally never averaged more than .2 3pa in a season. Not 2 — .2.
Great Scott! The Delorean still works and Alpi was never traded or left the Rockets for the next 11 seasons! Were they good years? And what stocks should I invest in the future?
Bc its CF, man... everybody is either a 'generational talent' - or a worthless scrub that could be replaced for far cheaper... there is nothing in between... lol
Putting him on the trade block shows how delusional this team really is. Amen for Jaylen Brown should of already been in the works. Sengun is the Numero.Uno . He is an Allstar, and a Leader...
I do not want to trade either one of them but moving Amen makes a whole lot more sense than moving Alpi who is currently still on the same trajectory as Jokic at the same age. Not saying he will be as good as Jokic but he has not reached his ceiling and is currently on the same trajectory. Trading someone like that would be beyond stupid. We must to keep him until he reaches his prime to see how good he actually becomes. I do not think Stone is dumb enough to trade him.
I'm an Alpi fan but we need to drop that Jokic narrative, it's just not true. Jokic was 23 in his 4th season, 4th in MVP voting, All star and All NBA 1st team. His 5th season like Alpi just had he was again top 10 in MVP, all star and All-NBA 2nd team. And then his 6th year he was the MVP. You honestly think Alpi's on track to be MVP next season?
Even if he had the potential there is literally zero chance of it happening with İme. I don’t think we even got to the point of testing that. He showed promise and then became both a dull and under performing player with annoying antiques. I am so frustrated at İme and the fo for literally killing all the young talent they got. They had zero success and they will repeat the same thing this year for a 50ish win team that will be humiliated in the playoffs.
I think teams have figured out Sengun, by what Draymond did to him in that playoff series. I dont know what happened to him, but regressed a lot. Is it the pg? I dont know, but someone posting up at damn near the 3 point line isn't working in todays nba. The spacing becomes unbalanced if you dont have great shooters. Even then everything is contested because of the shorter distance to recover. If you are going to post you cant get pushed out of the 4ft to 6ft range.Part of that is poor coaching as well. Like I said, I started to get annoyed when I would watch games, because everytime he would get the ball and have that ayyyyyyye yell. Yeah, he may have been getting fouled, but sometimes if you cry wolf everytime, you will not get it. Im from the 80s and 90s. Play through contact. You're a big man, you can expect to get fouled.
This This is the perfect response to that question....Cause you HIGH AS HELL IF YOU THINK ALPI IS GOING TO BE MVP
