Ime’s guy. Stone might want a 3 point shooter. I wouldn’t be surprised if he does the same thing though.

Not 5 this year, but could offer future SRPs. We had 2 this year + could have offered 2027 + 2028 + 2029 among others.

    My point = get creative.

This... this became abundantly obvious to me very early on. Stone's entire strategy and plan could be drawn on a cocktail napkin - he has no real depth to what he does. The Rockets power structure is also far more concerned about protecting their employment than they should be.

I forgot about the 53rd pick. The Rockets have 5 SRPs (I thought it was 4). 6 as soon as draft is over. I doubt the Knicks want 4 SRPs this year so I guess technically the Rockets could trade the 37 pick, 27, 28, 29 and 33 after the draft to amass the 5 picks. Still, not sure being creative is worth the Rockets being without future SRPs until 2034 for a late FRP. The Rockets need SRPs to satisfy touching requirements in trades.

I think the roster is better than some think... but we'll never know so long as Ime is here. He's the main thing holding the team back.

I think there are still issues with roster construction (lack of shooters, playmaking) but would agree Ime is also a big hindrance.

Stone trading up? Good luck. He has been sitting on his hands since last offseason.

Yep. We can add all the 3 pt shooters available and Ime is still going to spam FVV PnR’s and KD ISO’s that result in 2 pt shots. We are screwed until he is gone and he needs to take his boot licker with him (Stone).

I hope one of these four fall to us. I'm guessing Evans gets picked right away at the top of the 2nd, but maybe one of the other 3.

Trevon Brazile (Arkansas / PF / 23yo) - 6'11" athletic lob-threat who can space the floor decently (34%) and provide some weak side rim-protection (1.6 BPG).
    Jaden Bradley (Arizona / PG / 22yo) - True-PG with solid size (6'3"/6'4" 205) and excellent defensive instincts. A winner who's great from mid-range but doesn't shoot a ton of 3s (shoots a good % though at 39%).
Henri Veesaar (North Carolina / C / 22yo) - Skilled 7-footer with great range (43%). Not the most physical.
Isaiah Evans (Duke / SF / 20yo) - 6'7" skinny Wing who can shoot at a high level and at high volume.

I think Brazile could play with Sengun, Bari or Adams. Bradley's ability to guard 1s or 2s would help Reed, since he could also help him with PG duties (letting Reed focus on sniping). Veesaar's spacing from the 5 would be a nice addition but I don't think he has a ton of defensive versatility. Evans would just give us a quality shooter from the 2/3 off the bench that we haven'r really had in a minute.

I think this is a very weak 2nd round draft and I don’t see it making any real difference for the rockets, but taking a flier on Isiah Evans, who is only 20 and very long, and can really shoot it, wouldn’t be a terrible idea. He can’t do much else but the shooting is legit. He won’t get to where we are picking but I don’t want to make two 2nd round picks in this draft anyway.

Usually day of draft, sure. It hasn't been that long since the Suns had to trade an unprotected first to get the 2025 first, least favorable of Cleveland / Minnesota; 2027 first, least favorable of Cleveland / Minnesota / Utah; and 2029 first, least favorable of Cleveland / Minnesota / Utah because they literally ran FRPs and SRPs they could trade.

It has some interesting players even at around 40. It remains to be seen what Stone will do.
