He hasn't been picked up yet and the speculation was that he decided to stay in the draft because he has a first round agreement with a team. The only team that seems like they could give him minutes is Dallas. At this point, we would only be moving up nine spots to scoop him up in the first. Curious.
Ehh, I’d argue it’s the talent and depth of this draft class that’s making teams more cautious about trading. Bad class means more trades
Stone the type of dude to send 2 second rounders to move up 1 spot in the second round. Don’t be surprised.
Would anyone be the least bit surprised if Stone traded both 2nd round picks tomm night? My theory about Stone is that he seems to think there is no difference in talent in anyone taken outside the top 15 and his un drafted diamonds in the rough that only he is capable of finding like the great one known as Nix. The problem imo is Stone’s ego wanting to be known as the guy who finds talent for free instead of just understanding that there’s a reason why these guys like Nix, Crawford, etc. didn’t get drafted. I think not trading into this first round this season with the lack of depth is a mistake. Have fun going into next season with 7 nba players.
Stone press conference after- "We feel like (insert bust draft pick name here) is lottery talent and were shocked he had slipped this far, we didn't know if we would be able to get him but the pieces moved accordingly in our favor and here we are. (insert bust draft pick name here) brings so much we felt we were lacking last season and are excited to watch his growth. We are all exhausted, gonna get some much needed rest and continue looking at what other moves we can make. We aren't done yet."
