    Who thought brunson was a top 10 player before he won it .

    There are always 20 "top 10" players

    I saw a lot of people calling Brunson a top player this year. You're right the list changes per year but the point still remains. If you don't have a top 10 player that year the odds of you winning a title are very slim.

    I think another point (maybe I didn't make it well in the OP ) was that sengun , amen , heck even reed or jabari all have a chance of being in that "conversation" at some point in the future

    San Antonio being way ahead of schedule further necessitates this... They could have 4 all-stars in their starting lineup next year, the NBA had to change the draft rules because of it, smh...

    I'm also glad Sheppard isn't considered untouchable, nice bench player, just never going to be great because of his size and being a liability on defense...

    I'd call back to back first rounds losses, especially the flame out this year to a geriatric LeBron and G-Leaguers, mediocre. Doesn't really matter if it's worst or better than Morey. There are no trophies for that. Stone's job is to get this team to be a consistent deep playoff run threat and we aren't there yet. You're right, we don't have a true #1 on the team. Patrick and Stone need to get off their ass and make it happen. The clock is ticking.

    What clock? The young core is 23 yrs old and younger. Sengun and Amen can still develop into that no 1 option thats why we got KD to act as training wheels.

    They flamed out this year cuz they had 100M in injuries. I guess you forgot that or something.

    Nobody knows that. Becky Hamon literally said Brunson has no no 1 potential before the playoffs.

    The chances of any of those guys being in that top 10 conversation are incredibly small.

    And that was my point in saying Stone held them too long waiting on potential .... Same thing with Jalen Green, that dude had potential but he couldn't find any consistency, PHX took him as a rehab project to get rid of a player they didn't want.

    His value was "rehab project", eventually that's where we'll be with Sengun and Amen.

    Yeah, Sengun "could" play the 4 .... If he could shoot but he can't. I think of the group, Sengun is more likely to become a decent shooter than any of the others solving their flaws.

    Reed isn't gonna grow enough to matter, he's not going to get quicker to stay in front of his defensive assignments and he's got ball handling issues.
    Jabari can't dribble or drive, he's just average.
    Amen can't shoot after 5 years of professional coaching he's shooting ~30% from anywhere outside of "at the rim" and questionable ball handling.


    Everyone wants to get rid of KD, blaming him for the poor play from all of the above when he was the main reason they won as many games as they did. They'd have struggled to win 30 games without KD. They'd have easily been a bottom 5 offense.

    I'd trade KD too - turning him into a long term asset instead of one that's set to expire. But I do realize the offense is gonna be worse than ever.

    I don't see why Amen is untouchable, can't shoot worth a lick.

    Just like that guy said on X.com

    Rockets went from Akeem to Amen. Nothing to show for after 33-35?.years.

    Sengun is like your Gasol. Hire a real offensive coach and build around your allstar.

    This org is a joke. Get with the program before Sengun demands a trade.

    Pffff.....

    In all honesty we all know nothing is going to happen. This team doesn't have the stones to shake things up. They don't care about winning a championship here. They are more than content with making the playoffs and getting the playoff revenue. The Rockets are now run like a cash generating business instead of a basketball team with the goal of winning.
