obviously caveat, this is not a big account but I did some digging. never attempted to break a trade before, seems to absolutely despise Jaylen Brown and is a degenerate gambler and a Celtics fan. three hours to prove him to be a fraud, these kind of wild cards are what's fun with this stuff to me because every once in a while, the random accounts know something, looking at their history can be helpful if you assume the previous slop wasn't deleted. here's another. Houston sports fan, never attempted to break a trade before, tiny account. He's using his real name, a quick google search shows this guy lives in Columbus Ohio and works in corporate for Chase. This is the kind of random account that could break stuff. Randomly enough, years ago, I was able to be first on the Omer Asik trade to New Orleans because of someone at a bank yapping. This particular trade would not work financially and would likely require DFS and Capela to make it work. Likely would require Reed Sheppard to make it work and make Boston accept.
Jesus Christ, they were both on the All-NBA 2nd team together. Did any of you people watch the playoffs? Did any of you see exactly how bad we were without KD?
This same board I remember didn't want KAT. I think sometimes, people are looking for the PERFECT superstar player. Brown is clearly a star player, one of the best players in the league, sure he has his faults but he'd come here and instantly be our best player. Now of course, the price matters here, this isn't Wemby or prime Lebron or Antman, you want to get Brown with enough team left to have a legit contender, but the people that are just completely waving it off I wonder what they are waiting for?
almost certainly not legit but because they haven't had a history of being "insiders" its a little bit more interesting. it's why i posted it in an existing thread with a strong caveat for those who are not as online literate and didn't make a new thread. also would be very fun if it was real.
You know the +/- difference doesn't mean that much in this case seeing as he played 34mpg, all this says is that his team played well when he was off the floor, it doesn't mean that they played worse with him on the floor especially since he played so many minutes. How do you know the times he was off the floor was when the other team weren't running their best lineups and its more of a credit to Derrick White running the 2nd units? There is not a single end all be all stat. What I do know is before the season, people had the Celtics tanking because no one thought he could lead a team and he did exactly that and received MVP votes doing it.
Rockets trading for both White and Brown would mean they’re serious about actually trying to compete this year’s playoff showing was such a monumental embarrassment, Idk how you can possibly bring back this same roster + FVV and think that’s ok…
You’re saying that teams specifically changed their lineups and started their backups against Boston? I certainly didn’t watch all their games so you could be right.
It pushes the window back. KD has like 2 years left. He might actually be retired before Amen or Reed are in their primes. It's not perfect but at least we're not in as much of a rush. Also you can trade JB if it doesn't work in a couple of years. Can't trade KD when he's retired
and they really need to give Ime a capable offensive assistant but Ime seems like the type to not work well with others and wants a ton of control…probably why our assistant coaching staff is a bunch of nobodies and yes-men
This thread exists in a total fantasyland. The Rockets are simply not interested in being in the Jaylen Brown supermax contract business. The fact there is a 27 page thread about him says something troubling about the level of discourse on here.
I hope you're right but it's still a terrifying situation till it resolves, kinda like how i was railing against fox.
I don't know, I haven't watched all of their games either just pointing out something that could explain why his team had a better +/- with him off the floor. But he played a crap ton of minutes for what was a winning team and a top 5 team in the NBA...until the playoffs rolled around. He was a legit MVP contender. I don't think the Rockets should go all out for him but you could certainly build a championship with him...I mean, Boston already proven that. If people keep complaining about how our young guys are all duds then this is move you make when you can make it. The longer you hold on to these players the more the league finds out they are duds, the less appealing they are, the less value a player has the longer you hold on to them. Jaylen Brown is the best player (rumored) to be on the trading block.
yea, i'm not sure, I wouldn't want to put all of that money into a guy who isn't a clear franchise player but until he's traded, i'm just not sure. another account that isn't a trade breaker claiming it. This time they have 55K and the replies are calling him a troll.
I'm not excited about paying a guy a SuperMax deal but this says something far more troubling about the team our GM built after years of being a historically bad team. I'll gamble on Jaylen Brown over hoping Sengun turns into Jokic or Reed turns into Steph or Amen turns into a reliable shooter. At least I know Jaylen Brown has the hardware to show he can be the best player on a championship team.
I'm in this same boat. Something major has to change, I could see if the team made it to the WCF...I could even see if they made it to 2nd round and lost a competitive series with OKC...but sitting on this team acting like it's cool to just waste another year being playoff fodder is not okay. Sure, maybe Amen or Sengun or Jabari breaks out...it's not impossible, but the Rockets should not be expecting it to happen at this point or rather, shouldn't be relying on it to happen.
