Never buy high. If you wanted Brown, last summer was the time to do it.

People like to sell low and buy high. Crazy to me.

There is no high/low on an nba champion and finals mvp, the price is the price. I personally would trade Sengun, Reed and dfs but if they really want him, the 2027 nets pick has to be in play

The problem is that you never really know when the value is high or low in the moment.

Did they sell high or low on Jalen? Depends on what the rest of his career looks like.

Same with Sengun... He's 23, two-time all star including last season. Are they really selling low by trading him now?

With KD, he was mostly injury free on incredible shooting efficiency last year. Would you be surprised if he never had another year like that again at his age? I wouldn't. So are you really selling low?

It all depends on what happens in the future with their respective careers, and that is unknowable.

Durant and draft capital for Brown.

    Get it done, Stone.

I've always felt like Durant was the consolation prize in Stone's pursuit of Booker. If you can ship Durant along with whatever additional pieces you were offering for Booker and come away with Brown, you won. And ended up with an even better player.

Why would Boston trade Jaylen for KD? Lol. They are trying to compete for a championship, not go backwards.

Durant keeps them contenders while also getting additional assets to add around Tatum. Not hard to understand.

We may also be in a situation where the relationship is broken and Brown just wants out at this point. He's not supposed to publicly request a trade but who knows what he's telling them behind closed doors. If that's the case they may be motivated to get the best win now player plus whatever assets they can.

I would do Brown for KD, depending on what else Boston wants in the deal. Too many picks would be a dealbreaker

Who was the last guy to max out at 23 years old? I can’t think of anyone other than Derrick Rose.

Anyone not prepared for Jalen Green to have some moments is tripping, he’ll be around another 10-12 years. Him and Sengun are 2 or 3 years away from their best ball historically.

Actually very hard to understand considering that Jaylen Brown was carrying that team last year. Sure, he is making a lot of money and the team has cap issues to address, but you aren't trading Jaylen Brown to go backwards with Kevin Durant. KD is turning 38 and even though he had a spectacular season, there is no guarantee that next year will be the same. That's a huge risk for the Celtics hoping that KD will have another injury free season. Boston is in the hunt for a championship, so getting some FRPs currently to rid themselves of a player at his peak is bad management.

There have been quite a few actually. MCW, Jennings, Okafor, Tyreek Evans, Simmons.... and those were ones that had high-ish peaks.

Rose is a bad example because he came into the league and was almost immediately a top player, and became an MVP. Jalen hasn't shown anything close to that in his 5 years.

Dillon Harper might be 120% of Jaylen Brown as we speak. Maybe the Spurs less than competent front office as of late will let Harper go for the right price? Much cheaper and younger yet already better player.

Not if the relationship between Brown and the Celtics is irreparably fractured. If Brown demands out, a package of Durant and strong draft capital will be very competitive given it will keep the Celtics competitive and allow them to retool.

So, you realize that but the Spurs front office doesn't?

4 years $221 million to Fox the point shaving championship coach booter? They are definitely less competent these days.

I like the idea of getting turner with brown since Sengun is in this hypothetical trade.

I actually think this is one of the better trade scenarios I’ve seen. I’m assuming Quetta becomes our rim protection and Turner becomes our PF. It’s a win now move, so I personally wouldn’t do it, because I think Jabari is going to be much better than people think and may be a stretch center someday.I would want to turn around and trade Kd for a pick and/or good sg or sf.
Amen, Reed, Brown, Turner, Quetta would be pretty damn nasty on defense and better on offense then what we have now.
