You never know in the NBA with injuries and surprises so maybe you're right, but as of this moment, I doubt it.

Take a look at the trends in the East. They don't have the high-end teams at the top like the West had in OKC and San Antonio, but there are now lots of "good" teams.

    New York
    Boston
    Detroit
    Cleveland
    Philly
    Toronto
    Atlanta
    Orlando

Charlotte completely turned things around and is trending up. Miami just got Giannis. Washington added Trae Young, Anthony Davis and will add the #1 pick. Indiana gets Haliburton back.

It's still early in the off-season but it's very hard to see Brooklyn making the playoffs with the recent investment in so many young players (5 first-round picks last year, two more this year). What the Randle trade may do for us is increase the floor of this team. We need them out of the relegation zone (worst three teams in the league) and hopefully this helps that.

    Nope

Knicks, Celtics, Cavs, Heat, Hawks, Pistons

    Sixers, Wizards, Hornets

You think the MPJ - Randle - Demin core is better than any of those? Insanity

Edit: lol clutch just beat me to it

His value is negative judging from this trade.

    A. I don't think Stone traded Randle?

    B. Refresh your browser and check the Nets roster again. It was guaranteed bottom 3. Now it is a chance of avoiding it. Playoffs?!?! Lol.

Let’s bet $50 to the tip jar. I say the Nets pick next season will finish outside top 10. Bet is cancelled if the pick is traded between now and the trade deadline next season. Are you in?

Why do I have to make a bet because you made a terrible thread??

How about this: if Net don't make the playoffs [like you said they would] then you forfeit thread starting privileges for 2 years.

Haha, y'all think Randle is going to carry that team to the playoffs? He is not a winning player. He doesn't move the needle much, but might keep them out of the bottom 3

    Riiiiiight.

The Nets won't sniff the playoffs.

    We're perfectly positioned.

I started this thread to share my thoughts. I love the Rockets just as much as the rest of you. I didn’t call anyone an imbecile or bully anyone. Since when I can’t criticize the GM here? If someone needs to be banned from posting here, it’s you, not me. You should to be ashamed of yourself.

And if you are so confident about it, why don’t you dare to bet?

You have the right to criticize the GM (albeit in this situation seems unjustified) as well the Rockets community has a right to critize this half baked thread.

It's all good fun for the cause.
Besides, I can use the action.

    50.00 to the tip jar?

The Nets made a move that will allow them to win more games when they don't control their pick. Very predictable. I'm still expecting one more move that will make it even likelier than it is now that the Nets don't finish bottom 3. Granted, Stone haters will probably be shocked if the Nets finish outside the bottom 3.

Maybe the Net finish bottom 3, but odds were always the Nets would do something such that not finishing bottom 3 was likely (greater than 50%).

Reality is that if you offered next year’s Nets pick to move into tonight’s draft for the 6th pick or better you’d have six REAL GMs hanging up the phone laughing at you. Doesn’t matter if Nets don’t make playoffs, there is not one GM in the league that would even consider that trade. Ashleyem is right and you all are wrong and it’s not even close.

That’s 95% of threads though lol. Mostly knee jerk, misinformation, judgement not based on facts
