BLOCKBUSTER: The Milwaukee Bucks are trading franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bobby Portis to the Miami Heat for Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, 3 first-round picks (including No. 13), 1 pick swap and 1 second-rounder, sources tell ESPN.

The Heat are sending to Milwaukee unprotected first-rounders in 2031 and 2033 along with No. 13, a pick swap in 2030 and a 2033 second-rounder, according to sources.

The trade does not include any additional teams -- it is a one-to-one move, sources said -- but both the Heat and Bucks will execute the deal on July 6, which leaves the framework open to see if there are opportunities to expand.

Thank goodness Rockets didn't trade for him (assuming this is real).

Edit, misread. Okay-ish deal depending on if picks are UNP.

Going to be interesting to see how Miami builds around him they traded three really good players for him and 3 first round draft picks?

Giannis and Bam isn’t scary in the slightest, so this doesn’t change the landscape of the East at all IMO

I don't think Giannis is scary at all. He won a championship at his peak and has had a ton of injury issues ever since. He hasn't been able to drag that Bucks team to do anything meaningful. He is going to get his numbers in Miami, but hardly makes me feel they are title contenders. Don't know their cap situation so not sure why moves they will be able to make.

Kasparas shouldn't have been included. An overpay for the Heat.

I think this will look like a Shai for George 2.0 in a few years, where Milwaukee will be better than Miami and have all of Miami's picks.

We were talking on this board about trading Harden for Ben Simmons or Tyler Herro, and bunch of them were OBSESSED with Ben Simmons.

Man we had some major idiots trolling. Maybe they're still lurking here.

The Heat need another perimeter scorer. Norman Powell is an unrestricted free agent and Andrew Wiggins been a bust since he won the chip with the Warriors.
They need a point guard too...since they're in the East they'll be contenders as long as they fill those holes in their roster.

Trade makes sense for the bucks, but not for the Heat and Giannis. Enjoy the spacing with Bam.

It was their best offer for obtaining assets. If they had traded for Jaylen Brown they would've been stuck with his $60M+ salary per year and their current roster sucks

An entire starting lineup and 3 first round picks. Riley might be turning senile.

These two posts sum things up. I expect Pat Riley to have a solid plan in place and we'll see what it is very soon.

It's the exact opposite on the other side (not that anyone gives a care). Bucks made out like bandits in this trade but their front office seems shaky.

Damn that’s quite the bag for Bucks. Did Riley actually get the short end for once?

    Depreciation is a b****.

I actually don't fault the Bucks for trying to hold on to their franchise defining player a year or 2 too long. They held on & doubled down in 23 and 2024 - but keeping him last off-season was inexcusable. That with the Lillard /Turner disasters - just a massive organizational misstep

All it did was work out badly for player and team and fans - everyone lost.
