[Iko] Rockets willing to listen to offers for Durant, Sengun

    For a top 8 pick I would trade both Amen and Sengun.

    Draft Acuff or Flemings and sing Domusu in FA. Then try to move FVV for a serviceable C. I'm certainly not against moving KD in the right deal, but I wonder how good he would look with a young backcourt of Flemings or Acuff and Domusu

    Right but the Rockets have never admitted it internally or to a Rockets beat writer until now. Hell - the Rockets internally not only denied Amen was anything but untouchable but would get nasty about the question.

    Right after the season ended I heard from people away from the Rockets that everyone on the Rockets was available but there wasn’t going to be a fire sale.

    This is good IMO. Sengun and KD are very good, but one is too old and the other is a tough fit. Even the door cracked for Amen is positive - listen to offers and decide.

    There are several players the Rockets have higher than most in this draft, adding a pick would be great.

    Acuff and Flemings have the ability to be great PG's for the next decade. Do you think either Amen or Alpi will ever become great players? I'm really high on Dosunmu too. Wouldn't it be great to have a young athletic backcourt that can shoot and would be pretty good defensively too? What I expect to happen is Stone/Ime run it back with FVV. Yuck

    I’d still like to at least -try- Sengun at the 4 if we can find a 5 that can shoot and rim protect at least above average. I know I know it’s not easy easy to find, im just not ready to give up on Sengun yet

    But I am ready to get give up on Sengun as the 5.

    always said he’s not a center and needs a defensive minded center. I’m not trying to give up on Sengun anymore.

    The dude can't shoot. It doesn't matter if he plays 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 the problem still remains. He doesn't spread the floor and is brick layer from 3. You just can't have him and Amen out there together and expect to win anything in the playoffs.

    Spacing aside the defense with him at the 4 would be comically bad.

    Why not give up on Sengun? Moving him to the 4, where players are faster and can spread the floor, is still going to have him as a defensive liability. Even next to an elite defensive 5. He gets pushed around by guards like Castle, Caruso, and Smart.
    Nothing will change, I wish the best for him, but his crying, annoys me on offense now. I have trauma from his ehhhhhh yells to the refs. Maybe Ime isn't the right coach for him true, but his all star selections seem empty to me. He's the Trae Young of big men.

    get what you’re saying, I feel like we utilize him so wrong. I don’t think he’s ever a premier all star year in and out. I just can’t see us finding something to make up for him. I wish we had a more offensive minded coach who used him diff. He should not be taking threes.

    Yeah he shouldn't even be behind the 3pt line period and he's certainly hampered by Ime's non-coaching ability but even with an MDA offensive genius at the helm the puzzle of Amen/Sengun would still remain. I just don't see a world in todays modern NBA where you can have 2 horrible shooters out there on the floor. I think this team needs to figure out what they want to do. Build around Sengun who has great post offensive ability and passing or Amen who has the potential to be the best defender in the league not named Wemby and incredible athleticism and great slashing ability.
